This has happened before, but with Iraq in june of 1981 instead of iran. Iraq had plans to build 3 nuclear bombs and to do so they purcashed a nuclear reactor from the french. Isreal imediatly freaked out and right before the power plant was completed isreal sent over a fleet of 8 F-16s and destroyed the nuclear reactor killing 11 people, 10 iraq soldiers and 1 french engineer. All planes made it back to Isreal without being touched by Iraqi Planes or Surface to air missles. If Iran tries this shit, i'm pretty sure Isreal will have another plan up its sleave to bring down the reactor.
Poll
If Iran gets "the bomb", will they nuke Israel?
Yes | 45% | 45% - 59 | ||||
No | 54% | 54% - 71 | ||||

The whole debate between the muslims and the jews is a long one with many things to touch upon, its 2:30AM, I ain't gonna get into this long debate.
But if Iran had the nuke I'm sure they would like to do it, but I highly doubt they would go through with it

Here is your evidence of the letter from Iran to the oval office: http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/05/ … letter.ap/ .NB-CO-DELTA-COMMAND wrote:
sadly i disagree... there is no evidence of ANY letter going to the oval office, i sugest that nuclear reactors contain weapons grade "powder" .duk0r wrote:
wow, just wow. Can everyone say "Nuclear Power plant"? Big difference between that and weapons grade Plutonium. Umm yeah, anyone who listens to and believes our government these days needs to have their head checked. Sorry guys, our government (US) has been and will lie to get what they want.
Iran's president is trying to be diplomatic about the whole situation. He has sent several letters to the president and have requested a meeting to try and solve this problem diplomatically. Yet Bush and his administration is sitting here like a 5 year old kid with his finders in his ears going: "NA! NA! NA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!".
Iran wants diplomacy, Bushmerica wants war.
Also, as far as "weapons grade Plutonium" goes.... Initially, they said "the density of enrichment appeared to be close to or above the level used to make nuclear warheads. But later a diplomat accredited to the International Atomic Energy Agency said it was below that, although higher than the low-enriched material used to generate power and heading toward weapons-grade level." There are enough qualifications in that statement to drive a mountain through. What kind of differential are we talking about? Uranium enriched to between 3.5 percent and 5 percent is used to make fuel for reactors to generate electricity. It becomes suitable for use in nuclear weapons when enriched to more than 90%! With a vague assertion that the percent enrichment is "somewhere in between," they have NOTHING on Iran but crafty scheming and wishful thinking.
Making a nuclear weapon is not quite that simple. Just can't keep adding more and more Uranium to something to create a big bomb, It's not cordite. It also requires a really good resource of Weapons Grade Uranium . Which the enriched Uranium Iran has is no where close to 90%.NB-CO-DELTA-COMMAND wrote:
all you have to do is get the triggers and fuse it with a missle or bomb, "snaps" and you got a nuke... and thats why they have 30+ of these places...
I am still a bit confused about these 30+ 'places' you are talking about... What are these 'places' ? If they are mining camps then thats understandable. Plutonium is not an easy thing to mine.NB-CO-DELTA-COMMAND wrote:
why would they need that many? .... with the poor country rates there you would only need 3 nuclear plants to power it all. do the math, no offence to you or anyones post... i speak of what i know is the truth, and what i think is right (=
No - I think he means the 'Jews' arriving later was the creation of the Jewish state of Israel. I think the Arabs didn't take to kindly by having some weird, foreign power saying 'and I'll give this chunk of land to these guys here'

No, it isn't. Palestine was a British protectorate. At the end of WWII the UN, consisting of about 50 countries at this stage, decided to create a nation called Israel and encourage Jews to immigrate. In order to ensure a Jewish majority when elections came around, Zionists started killing Muslims, as well as engaging in a war with Palestinian nationalists.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
read up on the subject before you go about saying how "Palestine was taken from arabs" thats a load of bullshit and its a myth. do some learning instead of passing on other peoples opinions
But, if you REALLY go back the truth appears as this:mcgid1 wrote:
Actually the historical fact is that the Jews were there first. The Muslim religion didn't start until around 500AD. The Jews had already been in the area we now know as Israel for around a thousand years by that time.MooseRyder wrote:
\Some will say jewish was there first, some would say muslims was there first. That area of the world been fought for, for thousands of years and yet its not over.
Whatever peoples who were responcible for the legends of Atlantis passed on ( through the people who either learned as laborers and tradesmen ) knowledge of architecture and writting to the Summerians. These Sumerians are generally acredited with creating the first written text although some scholars point to artifactes as old as 40000 years, which as now being recognised as writting, or counting.
The Summerians used migrant day labor type workers to build their temples and cities. Over the course of some 1000 years the kingdom of Sumatra began to decline. The migrant workers moved to a very rich area along a powerfull river and lush valley called the Nile. The dominant local warlords used the laborers knowledge of architecture, learned from the Summerians who had learned from the survivors of Atlantis to create fantastic structures that still stand today and are named for their geometric shape; pyramids.
About the time the migrant labor force ( Jewish slaves ) began to equal in number to the population is about the time the ending the era of a united Egypt happened. People wonder what happened to the great culture of Egypt? It was dilluted by a migrant labor force that over time coopted many of its religous beliefs and altered them to be their own ( begining of Jewish faith ).
The point?
Jews may have been there for a thousand years but they displaced and over took pre-existing cultures, and they were not really pallestinians. Pallestine has changed hands so many times through history that NOBODY and NOTHING can lay claim to it. It would be like trying to say that the Aztecs are the only right owners of Mexico. It's a pointless argument because its as unprovable as religion itself; we simply cannot look back far enough in time to ascertain who properly owns what land and from what point. Our oldest surviving meaningfull written history is about 4000 years old. People have been continously occupying the area now known as Isreal for 400000+ years.
If they can't learn to get along the U.S. of almighty A will have to give them a time out.

The " places " are nuclear power plants.... thats why it raised my alarm, and well. its the bread crumb trail into the woods of the nuclear bomb . " phrase" thats all i think... there is more but it would take hours to explain. i know bombs are hard to make. but the elements are all there, they said they have em. and well. even terrorists dont lie ( somtimes ) but no offence to anyone... im just saying i see the trail,
Yeah but where are those numbers coming from?NB-CO-DELTA-COMMAND wrote:

I understand where you are coming from... Your information is coming from the White House and us government intelligence... Their information has never been so accurate. Be careful, don't believe everything your government tells you. Most of the time they are going to lie straight to your face. Why? Because they can, and they will.
Another thing I am trying to say is that the US Government needs to exercise diplomacy before war. It looks like the US is leaning towards war. The Bush administration has their own objective and they are not going to let anyone get in their way.
Iran's president wants to talk, he wants diplomacy! Obviously the US doesn't want to cooperate with Iran (or their president) and it looks like the US is pulling for war. So sad that so many more people are going to have to die because of this administration.
the history of israel and palestine goes deeper than 60 years buddy, like i said, you should delve a little further on the subject as I have.Bubbalo wrote:

Why? Sure, it is, biblically, the Jews homeland. Sure, they used to live there. What we need to look at here is the *used* to part. They left. Then their descendants decided, hey, it wasn't such a bad place after all, give it back, and that's what happens? Great work, Western World.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

What, on the fact that there were Jews pushing for a Jewish state pre-1940, occasionally violently?
Why should Iran nuke Israel ? That would be the most stupid thing for them to do. Such action would provoke a major retaliation from all western Israel supporters and Iran would be turned into a parking lot.
Why does Iran strive for the bomb ? simple, because they can use it as a deterrent and secure their independence from foreign interests. They have seen what western nations have done in the middle east and they don't want to be the next victims of western imperialism.
by the way, as has been rightly said, Iran right now does not have the technical capabilities to produce weapons-grade Uranium. Their installations allowed them to enrich Uranium to 3,5%, which is just about enough for use in a nuclear power plant. As far as the NPT goes they have the right to use nuclar energy peacefully, just like any other nation on the planet.
As far as the nuclear power plants go, I always hear the same argument: "Why would they want to build nuclear power plants when they sit on a heap of oil they could use to power they nation ?"
Well, guess what, if I had that much oil, I'd rather sell it for 70$ per barrel instead of burning it.
Fossil energy resources won't be around that long any more. How are countries like Iran supposed to run their economies in the future if they aren't allowed to build nuclear power plants ?
Given the rethoric of the Iranian Pres. and the general mistrust against ME countries ( they harbor terrorists, ya know.. ) I can understand the US and Israel position and I agree that we need to be sure that the Iranian nuclear programm is for peaceful purposes only, but IMHO that is all there is to it.
Right now, there is no proof that Iran wants to make a nuclear weapon. Why not allow them a nuclear research facility and possibly a power plant and have the IAEO monitor the facilities ? If the inspectors find anything fishy, then you can consider additional action.
The IDF have the capabilities to attack selected targets in Iran with airstrikes. That's what they did in 1981. They do not, however, have the military capabilities to stage an invasion in Iran. As far as I know, they don't even share a border with Iran. And even if they could muster enough troops, they would not be able to transport or supply them over that big of a distance.
There are concerns that a nuclear weapon developped and produced in Iran might one day end up in the hand of a terrorist organization. I share those concerns. But don't you agree that there are cheaper and more effective ways to prevent this from happening instead of attacking Iran ?

Right, I'm pissed.... Everybody who mentioned the Jews in relation to Israel before it became Israel go do some reading.
THE JEWS ARE NOT A RACE, THEY ARE A RELIGION..... The HEBREW people lived there, they all happened to be of Jewish faith....

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Assuming a nuclear exchange takes place, the only way I can see for the world to avoid WW3 is for Iran to strike first, for if they do it would be understandable for Israel to nuke in retaliation, and Israel would be less likely to suffer an attack from a country besides Iran.
And of course, Iran is all buddied-up with North Korea. If they REALLY wanted nukes, surely they could just trade with NK? Heard of oil for food? Howbout oil for nukes?

Simply.....no.
For the press or government to suggest this is blatant propaganda. Come on, its obvious that Iran would be destroyed if it even attempted to fire a missile at Israel. The fact that this scaremongering is being touted by the government shows preemptive intension.
I believe that Iran is trying to make a nuke. But for the same reason the rest of the world Nuke powers made theirs. Deterrents to stop USA or the Soviet Union from involving them in the cold war. This is another form of cold war. Its interesting that the US media makes Ahmadinejad look crazy and irrational with his finger on a big red button. The Iranian media makes bush out to be crazy with his finger on a big button too. Its the same shit. Only Bush has shown that he will go through with his threats.
Iran's neighbor was invaded, looted and blown to shit on a lie. They think they are next.

Except that, as I understand it, Judaeism is sort of hereditary, in that it's easier to be born a Jew than convert, and as such the line between race/religion starts to blur. Not only that, but those pushing for a Jewish state in Palestine weren't necessarily Hebrew, but were Jewish.......with maybe a few Christians thrown into the mix for their own reasons.Flecco wrote:

My point being Judaism was NEVER a "race" it has always been a religion. The line has only blurred in the last 15 years because of the Zionist movement.
The Hebrew tribes lived in that area. They were a distinct race of people. It is easy to become a Jew you know, an Australian actress became one to marry that fella who acts as Ali G....
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I really hope so, I hope that all religious people must destroy each other!
Religion must go away before we can get peace in this world! Hello? We live in year 2006(soon 2142:P)!!!

Once again, we can blame the damn jews.... damn them jews.... and their jewey jew stuff.
You guys are full hot over Israel huh? Is this bf2s, or a Klan rally?

Nope, will never happen.
Iran nukes Isrieal.
We nuke Iran.
China / Russia nukes us.
It called mutual assured destruction. Seems to have worked up to now.
Furthermore if we do not do something about Irans nukes, Isreail will. Remember the raid on Iraq in the 80's? Isrieal takes care of themselfs.
Let's just hope cooler heads prevail.
