I had the same thing happen.
I was deleting a post in one tab, and viewing the thread containing that post in another. While the page deleting the post was loading, I saw my post in red on the other tab. The deleted post went away after I refreshed when the other tab finished loading.

Another test
jsnipy, you must be a mod now. Only mods can see deleted posts.
I saw three that were deleted by OH ................. must be my x-ray specs

i purposely delete some of my posts KNOWING that only mods will see them, yo.
