recently wanted to start playing bf2 again
bought complete collecters edition for $20
installed it
installed patch 1.41
installed patch 1.5 final
thought it would be sweet to play but no??
says that i have an invalid cd key...
ive read alot of threads on how to fix it and it seems it works for some people but its not working for me

ive tried...

*  Run the "Battlefield 2_code.exe" program from your  /bf2/support/ folder.  enter your cdkey.
*  next you'll need the program "BF2CDKeyCheck.exe"   there is a link to it on this thread, but the file is not on EA's ftp server anymore.
*  you can get the file from the bf2 1.41 patch, here's how:   run the 1.41 patch, select your language and hit next.  STOP here, do not start the install.  Now  open a "run" dialog box in windows (windows key + R),  type  %temp% and hit enter.   now look for a newly created folder with a lot of random characters as the name.  look inside and find the BF2CDKeyCheck.exe program.  copy program to desktop.  Now cancel the 1.41 patch without installing.
*  Run the "BF2CDKeyCheck.exe" program and your key should be fixed/encrypted and bf2 should work

and i tried

Click Start.
Go to Run.
Type regedit and hit OK button.
Click on plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click on plus sign next to SOFTWARE.
Double click on Electronic Arts folder.
Double click on EA Games folder.
Double click on Battlefield 2 folder.
Double click on ergc folder.
Data displayed will probably have x9392 only.
Right click on it and select Modify.

Type in x9392 and then your CD key.
note: don’t include hyphens.

i manually updated punkbuster etc

and i dont know what to do?
i wish things would work the way they should..
