Trying to create an image of nookie Froyo on an 8GB Class 4 MicroSDHC. I'm getting "not enough space". WTF? Help please. I'm using that Open Source WinImage app.
Even with AppBrain it wasn't quite as fluid as Google's solution. AppBrain had a much different method requiring more interaction from the user with the phone, the Market website automates everything. Click and just watch it begin downloading.

I pretty much only use one screen for apps now. The rest is launcher pro widgets. I wonder why some of the icons for ppl don't show up (see drunk messenger).

The music player on the home screen seems a little out of place.. might change that and the weather/clock.
A friend at work had a very minimal (HTC) screen. He stripped all the sense stuff out. I showed him Widgetsoid2 and he said something like that is built in to android . He is pretty tech savy, he's actually writing an android app right now. I'm not sure exactly what he was talking about tho.

The one thing that App Brain can do that the Market website cannot is create a backup list of your apps. The way I understand it, the Market website syncs its list based on what is installed on your phone. Reset your phone, your list will end up empty minus whatever apps you paid for (they won't be installed, but they show up on the Market app after a reset under "My Apps" as available to install) and you won't remember what you installed. App Brain can build a backup list of apps.

There are other ways as well with an app.
In the event that you need to Hard Reset your Android device but dont want to spend time tracking down all of the applications that you had from Market to get them back, there is an option for you!
To back up applications downloaded to the device from Market, you will need to download AppManager from the Tools category in Market. Once you have downloaded and installed the AppManager on your device:
Go to Home>Applications Tab>AppManager
To back up individual apps: touch the apps (one at a time) that you want to be backed up to the SDCard and select "Backup to SD" from the popup menu.
To back up all apps, press Menu>choose your back up option and touch OK.

That's an idea... I didn't know that. Must be one of the new features of FroYo that I've yet to actually use.
Id be willing to bet google will offer a backup service for apps in the near future. .. I hope. Itunes does it after all

Also, I want to upgrade my sd card, but I wonder if it will screw up my settings n stuff. Would a direct copy work .. it should right?

I would imagine if you put the new SD card in the phone, formatted it and then just did a 1:1 copy of the data from the old to the new, you should be just fine.

Finally took the time to get my gameboy advance emulator working and boy is it cool. I got Final Fantasy 1,2,5 and 6 on it (I have finished 1 a looong time ago, but it was in a pack with 2).
Might get some more games over the next few days.
The sounds tends to stutter a bit at some points, maybe it'll be less in other games, but its not THAT terrible
