Australia were woeful in the beginning, batting against Zimbabwe. I'm 99% sure they forgot it was an ODI and they thought they were playing a Test match. Afterwards they kicked in, eventually got to a decent 262 against Zimbabwe. Then again, it's Zimbabwe. Look at the way India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand brushed aside their underdog opponents.
Yeah smashed Holland by 3 runs.
Jesus Christ.

Actually it was by 6 wickets. Come on '27 you know how it works
Didn't really watch/follow when England were bowling, but apparently it was their worst ever performance with the ball and on the field. Oh well, a win is a win

I only heard what the radio was saying in the background in work, just heard some lil snippett about 3 runs and scraping through.
Yeah we'll take the win, but even so, Should of fucking nailed them.

Watson and Haddin aren't the most fluent vs. spin early on, and it was pretty obvious that it was a deliberate tactic. Given past history, not too concerned. Much more worried about White's form.Mekstizzle wrote:

It is worth noting that Zimbabwe's army of spinners are without a doubt in the top three in the world (ie in the top three spin attacks). And 40 overs of it...

And England's performance yesterday was sheer comedy. Sheer, sheer comedy. Sitters going down, centuries brought up on five-overthrows, batsmen being recalled after being bowled because there weren't enough fielders in the circle, a mix up between two fielders when a skied ball went right between Anderson and Pietersen, and they both left it to each other from like two metres away...

Fucking KP
What a fucking game, a real up and downer
Haha, think tie was the right result. Both sides had multiple opportunities to put each other away for good but fucked it up big time. Epic ODI though, haven't we had a few of those in the last year or so. Funny for a format that's supposed to be on its deathbed eh.

Well done Ireland, credit due outplayed an England team full of mistakes in the field again. I was wishing Ireland would do well as I remember them beating Pakistan last time and the coach copping it? Bob Woolmer maybe? If I was Andy Flower I wouldnt be accepting any free meals sent to my hotel room.
I hope in time Ireland can excell up the world latter and establish themselves into a nation bigger and better than say Zimbabwe in the next 5-10 years. They do play in the Pr0-40 league dont they? Along with Holland and Scotland
If I had anything to do with Irish Cricket right now Id be buzzing my tits off. Congrats and well played; fully deserved

That was a crazy innings by O'Brien, England are involved in all the epic matches of this tournament. I dunno about Ireland being better than Bangladesh at the moment as they would have (should have) beaten them but they should be getting Test status eventually if the funding is there. They'd easily be able to eclipse Bangladesh too, where the funding and support was there but not so much in the way of talent.
I don't think anyone is really arguing about whether Ireland is better than Bangladesh now. I certainly think they're better than Bangladesh was when they were given Test status, and probably would have produced much better results than Bangladesh if they were given the money thrown at Bangladesh over the years.
They're not ready for tests yet, but we certainly should tell them to get ready. That means send A teams to tour and get a viable FC structure in place.

I actually think Broad is your best one day bowler - better than Swann. He can bowl in any conditions, can adapt the game, has basically all the tools - and pioneered a new one in the slow bouncer - and is an excellent death bowler. Not having him for the Aus series hurt you a lot more than most people think.
Bit of a fan, must admit.

How epic was Swann though? Best one-wicket spell you'll ever see, needed a hattrick in his last for his figures to accurately reflect the quality of his bowling.

Windies are looking to steal this match from the Poms... it's really just down to wickets now.
Great game. Pity Windies lost.
the team that wanted it more won tbh. wi really took their foot off the pedal after the 37th over or so of the england innings, let them get about 20-30 runs too many. which as it happens is how much they lost by.

I only saw the second half of the WI innings. There was a good partnership going there for a while, but once that was gone it was game over.Spark wrote:
