If you're buying a watch like that, you're buying it because you want everyone to know you've got a million dollar watch, not because it looks good. On the other hand, you could spend that kind of money easily on a Patek Phillippe and no one would notice it.

The second hand and digital display turn off, after a few hours in the dark. Keeps the battery from draining needlessly. Turn a light on in the morning and you see the second hand move into place and start ticking as it should.
Was my Dad's issued watch when he was active duty in the early 90s.
