A VERY easy measure can be taken (and has been on many occasions) to accommodate the keyboard's lack of analog input without assuming that your PC gamer customer is always going to have access to a gamepad. Numpad for throttle %'s. NUM1 - 10%, etc. It's a rough method, but easier than driving by 100% acceleration taps. If you're porting or making a racing game for the PC, there is no reason not to include a set like this.Finray wrote:

That doesn't change the fact that developers need to take into account that most people on this platform will play the game with keyboardFinray wrote:
Because racing games aren't meant to be played with a keyboard? Not a hard concept to grasp. They're meant to be played with a gamepad so you can avoid the problem of 100% throttle/brake.
infact I believe you're in a very very small minority
What are they to do, include a gamepad with the game? There's no way of getting around the fact a keyboard has no analogue input.
That said, it's better to have analog input.
