I really wonder why DICE didn't keep the 4-class system of BF2142. That one was the best IMO.

1) Assault = GL + heal/revive
2) Support = resupply + HMG
3) Engineer = repair + AT or AA
4) Recon = specops + sniper

Plus, it had two separate unlock trees that made the player decide in which direction you wanted to develop the classes.

All of a sudden, in BFBC2, they gave the HMG to the medic and the resupply bags to the grenade launcher spamming assault.
The BC2 class system came as a byproduct of the BC1 class system. They didn't have a medic in BC1, but they had Assault, Spec-Ops, Support, Engi and Sniper-fags. There was too much overlap between Assault and Spec-Ops, and Sniper-fag was (surprise surprise) not useful enough. They wanted to add a medic class and increase class distinction, but they needed to do that on top of allot of shit that they had already built.

I liked the flexibility of the class system from BC2. I prefer it over the BF2 system. A lot of you guys seem to have a rose tinted view of BF2. Between here and there the series did make some improvements. A pure completely orthodox sequel to BF2 would be a step back TBH.

I agree, with BF2 there were many classes whose use were too limited (sniper, engineer) and others who overlapped too much (Medic, Assault and Spec-Ops only had minor differences). Given the setting, it would be hard to add more classes and keep them all unique and useful.

You guys who want more classes only do because there were more classes in BF2 and so you feel it should be like that because that's how it was in BF2.

written in : the sequal to the game BF2: "BattlefieldTHREE  - Main Thread"

learn your class , play your class , every single fps these days are so fkin consolenerfed , for dumasses who can't aim for shit. everything is compromized for controllers and the restrictions for the poor consolegamers

I played quite a bit of 2142 yes , but almost all of it with my clan (stopped playing when you couldnt glitch the titans anymore)

the classes were ok there : even the idae with specops+sniper was kinda ok in 2142 due to the specific costumization it had , but medic with rocketlauncher ( WHAT THE FUCK?!) could have just taken away the other classes from the beginning... I won't even mention BC1/2 since they aren't true BF games...

BC2 was the sequal to BC1, fine! so give us our BF2 sequal properly ...YES WITH SNIPERS!

And floppy: I really don't understand why you're still arguing about how the sequal to bf2 shall be when you played bf2142 before bf2 , if you love bf2142 and BC2 so much gtfo from , BF2s website/forum...

It's hurting that they are treating BC2 like a real BF game. It's like arcade Battlefield. They can keep killcam etc for BC3. They should just do away with whacking it on consoles, and keep Bad Company as Console only (yeah, based on a watered down BF if they like for ease) and BF series proper for PC.

I hate commanding, but I WANT THAT OPTION!

I don't think it'll be a blatant rip off of CoD's killcam.

Maybe they'll do something cool with it. Maybe they see it as a way to show off the kill, rather than a method of targetting the shooter.

A far-out thought, but maybe there's hope in it.

No my post stated that your a fucking idiot who complains about the evil big developers and publishers are bad but indie devs and small scale devs are good. Yet you don't even pay the indie devs. I.e you are the greedy one.

As to you not caring about my CV, I never said I knew about game development because I pay for games that was just a secondary comment that you don't know shit about games development. Which I then made patently obvious, I do.

It was better to have the MG for the medic. The MG's aren't that good at killing and they're unwieldy, that way you don't have a game full of Medics and nobody ever dies but everyone is always dying. Like what BF2 Inf only mode turned into.

They're still good, but not as good at dropping infantry as a standard assault rifle. In BC2 at least. It made the Medic class much less dominating. Until you unlocked the G3..... or the Thompson in Hardcore/Vietnam (or Hardcore Vietnam, damn)

They needed to relegate the Medic to a support role like it is instead of balls out frontline infantry

Tbh classes in Bc2 were reasonably well balanced as from as mek says the medic who is still excellent in infantry combat.
