Retarded? The game costs less than some of the in-game cosmetic items. That's beyond retardation.
Axe = 2 Refined, Scotsman Skullcutter and Haunted Metal
Halloween Hats = 4 Refined and Haunted Metal
9 Class Paper Bag Masks = Saxton Hale Hat
Ghastlier Gibus for people who had it last year, but apparently the Ghastly Gibus can still be found and that.

Oh really so you only have the Ghastlier Gibus if you got the normal Gibus last Halloween? Interesting.

that way, it's still usable for training, but the -100 HP nerf still inhibits your combat ability.
Well, that's the point of micro transactions. And nobody would expect the game itself to be at the same price as in 2007.NooBesT wrote:

You're not forced to pay for any of that crap.
What I really find most presumptuous and an utter impudence is the fact that those stupid locked Mann Co. crates are dropped.
That really pisses me off.
I'm patiently waiting to get any worthwhile weapons and items I haven't played with yet, but what do I get?
I'm not going to pay real money to open a stupid crate when I already own half the possible content. Even vintage ones.
I don't care about Valve's decision to get more money out of their most popular - but definitely stagnating game - with micro transactions.
But I at least want to play the casually and be able to eventually get all the non-paid stuff, not getting slapped in the face with stupid teasers for their ridiculously over-priced store.
crates do piss me off.
If it makes you feel any better the crates are on a separate drop system and don't affect your normal gathering of items.globefish23 wrote:

But yes I think pretty much everybody agrees, they are very stupid and annoying.
17.49€ is hardly a micro transaction.
Agreed, "micro-transaction" is pretty bullshit when Steam sells full games for less than a digital headress in TF2.
For hats and special weapons I can see how the current pricing scheme is okay. If people really want the items they'll fork over the money, those who'd rather not can earn 'em the old fashioned way or trade for 'em. But paint, name tags, keys or the most useless addition of all time, wrapping paper at the $2.50 US mark, ($3NZ,) is pretty piss-poor. Hopefully that will get sorted out in time.

Not really a relief, since the items I did get are mostly Force-A-Natures and Sandviches...
Even more annoying are people trying to trade them for my Bill's hat.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

I think the 'micro' refers to the tiny quantity of content you get, not necessarily the price.NooBesT wrote:

But yes, keys are a total rip-off and wrapping paper for gifts is nothing more than a criminally high capital transfer tax IMO.
I wonder when Valve will hit on the idea of introducing "trading boxes" that you'll need for every single trade - for both parties.
tf2 is retarded now
it's just a fact
the player-base (especially in pub) has always been 4chan faggots and morons and now it's all oriented around money
i wasn't a fan of the hat system nor the drop system but... at least before there was some 'limited' appeal
for instance, we could often tell each other apart in-game by our hats, and by the virtue that they were at least a tiny bit rare
now it's just like everyone has everything, and if they don't... VISA DEBIT

I do like the way I'm usually able to tell from a distance and during chaos who is who because of hats.
But yes. That store and the way they remind you about it every few minutes via crate drops. Not a fan.

Maybe in 6v6 so you know who's the roamer or who's the better scout, but when I play pub it just makes it more difficult because it changes everyone's silhouette.

Well I mean if i'm playing TF2 with Lucien and NooBest I always know who Lucien is and I always know who NooBest is because of the fact that one of the 3 Scouts is wearing X hat and one of the Soldiers is wearing X hat.
It makes finding them in a crowd much easier.
Until someone else puts the same hat on but there's so many now that it's not that likely.

hats are a license to print money
poker night in the inventory?
Jesus. I saw someone post something like that on SPUF so out of curiosity I logged into my community and not one person has bought it.
Meh I might consider getting it if I had actually read/seen/played the stuff everyone except the heavy is from...
Though I'd get bored fast, seeing as it's poker and all...
EDIT: Oh, checking my community I also noticed this:
Playing time: 144.6 hrs past 2 weeks
That's unemployment for you

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
I used to watch StrongBad videos all the time back in the day. A long time ago. Him answering his emails made me laugh quite a bit.
So yeah I know Heavy, Sam and StrongBad so I would quite like to play it, especially if all 3 of them have a bunch of new funny dialogue. It's just that guy from the completely un-funny Penny Arcade comics (and the fact that everyone will attack me for getting it) that's putting me off.
