What is Minecraft?

Minecraft is a sandbox building indie video game written in Java originally by Swedish creator Markus "Notch" Persson and now by his company, Mojang, formed from the proceeds of the game. It was released on May 17, 2009, with a Beta on December 20, 2010. Official releases for iOS and Android are currently in development to be released later in 2011 along with a full version of the game; the Android release was temporarily exclusive to the Xperia Play but now is available to the rest of the Android market. A version of the game for the Xbox 360 with Kinect support is under development by 4J Studios.

I gave it a few hours today... It's pretty good

But I hate it when you exit your neatly built front door only to be greeted by two exploding creepers leaving you either dead or with low hp.. and a HUGE hole, where your porch used to be

I'm making a castle but I keep running out of stone blocks.

Also I fell off the tower I made and lost everything. It made me go NOOOOOOOO. I'd been mining for hours.

I was able to find my half built castle again though because I had left a torch nearby so I could see it from miles away.

Yeah I just finished a wooden cabin then started mining down inside undisturbed.. not too far down I came upon a cave and the monsters just started rushing me by the dosens... I fukken died 5-8 times before FINALLY cleaning out the last of them O.o

I saved and look forward to exploring that cave tomorrow...

So ive put waayyyy too many hours into this game, but my place is epic. Ive found if you put torches to light up dark places, enemies wont spawn there and it makes mining much much safer. I made a giant lighthouse with a ton of torches on top in the middle of my settlement so it will scare off the baddies and it makes it 10x easier to find my way home

Underground I have an intricate mine cart system and im pretty sure ive burrowed to the bottom of the game because there are some unbreakable blocks at the bottom of my mine.

The game has great potential, and if the guy keeps adding stuff ill be quite pleased
