Not in the slightest, I'm surprised you've missed all of our occasional bitchfests. If someone posts something awesome I'm going to say that, it's got nothing to do with who posts it. Or am I overusing utterly or something?
Nah not overused, just a coincidence I saw you use that word twice today and on both occasion you commented on Uzique's post. You're forgetting I was absent from this forum for quite some time but I'm not surprised about bitchfights with Uzique- everyone was in one with himghettoperson wrote:

Nice. Planning to overclock? just got a i7 930 recently myself
Maybe ... I've seen comments from people that have overclocked it to 4GHz with the stock CPU cooler and stressed it for 10+ hours and still end up with less than 60 degreesLittle BaBy JESUS wrote:

Zoom H4n ordered from amazon today to replace my MinDat & sony mic. Finally making the move from dat tape to dig. My friend has one so I already know its a great piece of kit. I can take a feed off the desk and connect up two directional condenser mics to this machine as well as use the inbuilt mics. It can record all 4 feeds as wav which I can then mix down later.
The audio this machine records is very good. Anyone thinking of buying one can check the quality on the vid bellow. We set my mates zoom up infront of the front of house mixing desk at the back of marque about 30m back from the stage. I havent mixed the recording at all and its one raw feed taken from the built in mics.

Audio Culture: Readings in Modern Music attempts to map the aural and discursive terrain of vanguard musical culture today. Over the past few decades, a new audio culture has emerged, a culture of making and thinking about music and sound that disregards conventional categories and oppositions still operative in the academy and the mainstream music industry alike. Via writings by key philosophers, cultural theorists and composers, this book explores the interconnections among such forms as Minimalism, Indeterminacy, musique concrete, Improvised Music, the Classical Avant Garde, Experimental Music, Avant-Rock, Dub Reggae, Ambient Music, Hip Hop, and Techno. They demonstrate the way these musics constantly cross-pollinate each other, transgressing generic boundaries, and how contemporary composers, producers, and musicians now work within complex networks of association and influence: New York art rockers Sonic Youth release a CD of works by John Cage and other avant-garde experimentalists; Bjork interviews Karlheinz Stockhausen for a music magazine and Derek Bailey, the septuagenarian founder of Free Improvisation, collaborates with Drum 'n' Bass producers. Each chapter opens with an introduction that situates and interconnects the writings to follow and concludes with an extensive bibliography and discography. The book also includes a comprehensive glossary of terms and phrases such as 'Ambient,' 'Dub,' 'just intonation,' and 'modal improvisation.'

=Sight and sound are equally crucial to our understanding of the world, yet the visual has dominated discussions of cultural experience. The very way we relate to, and think about, our everyday world has been influenced by this emphasis on sight over sound. Providing a definitive overview of an emerging field, this pioneering reader is the first to redress a glaring imbalance by investigating how auditory culture subtly and profoundly impacts on our everyday lives.
From the evocative tolling of village bells to the grating rattle of exhaust pipes, what we hear influences how we feel and what we do. As technology advances, the world has become an increasingly noisy, confusing and disturbing place. The recent addition of mobile phones alone has irrevocably changed our auditory experiences. In order to retreat from jarring sounds, we seek new sounds – sounds that calm, block, soothe. Beginning with the role of sound in historical and social thought, The Auditory Culture Reader moves on to consider city noise, music, voices, and new technologies and medias of sound. It explores, for example, the sectarian sounds of North Belfast, sounds of the powwow amongst Native Americans, football chants, recorded sermons, and the power and influence of the DJ’s voice.
Filling a significant gap, this groundbreaking and multidisciplinary reader combines classic texts, interviews and original contributions by leading social and cultural theorists. It represents a landmark statement on a surprisingly overlooked aspect of our everyday experience.
