lol @ paying for books
Spoiler (highlight to read):
inb4 lol @ taxes
i have to spend about £1,200 a year on books for my course

but to be fair i like buying books
How many books is that out of interest? I'd think a lot, and I'm guessing here, but would it be fair to say for the most part they're reasonably cheap? Or is it the same story as academic textbooks with very limited runs so that you frequently spend 60-100 pounds on one book?

EDIT: Aha, you just answered that.

private education here in the UK doesn't cater for 3 year's worth of books for thousands of students. that's a lot of £.

plus... i do like to have my own. it's not as if classic literature is going to be a burden on me in the future

I get that... but at least our way you have money for food during an education... paying more taxes when you get a job WITH that education, is less of a burden

Don't you start swearing!
Spoiler (highlight to read):
yuck, sports

EDIT: BTW isn't college sports just some excuse created by the rich to get their "jock" kids through an education?

one could ask why this is threadworthy and not just in ee chats?  i mean should we just post with no comments at all?

Just remove topic creation, close all threads, and just use EE chat for everything. lol

Why not post in EE chat? When the comments become removed from replies to on-topic posts, this thread loses its focus.

technically everything is "ee chats" worthy discussion. it's a catch-all thread, ffs.

if you were dead serious about that rule then this entire thread would consist of one-post, going-nowhere images of what people have bought.

wow... interesting concept for a thread.

'show off what you purchased today and then exit in an orderly fashion'

i purchased
