I bought a new laptop and wanted to install my favorite game on it...Battlefield 2
I installed the CD in and tried to patch it with 1.5... unfortunately, a pop up window comes and tells me i already have the latest patch.
weird...i check if this is true, I launch the game and find all the servers to be Red.
I researched on the internet and found that other people were having this problem.
Most of the forums told me to exactly this.

I did exactly that. Then I launched the game again, however, you know that blank black screen there is before the game actually starts, will ht computer goes black but then crashes to the desktop.
So what i tried to do is, totally uninstall BF2, then re-install, and install Patch 1.41 and then re-install 1.5.But now the patch 1.41 just completely fails. i deleted 1.41 and and downloaded it again. But it still fails. This is where i downloaded it from...http://www.gamershell.com/download_16477.shtml
so i completely uninstalled again, re-installed. This time, where the video puts the version to "1.4"... i put the version to 1.0. Patched the game to 1.5. It still crashes.
I have no clue what to do
