If I buy a second hand copy of CoD4 that's already once been registered online, can I still use that copy to play online on my computer?

I know you can with BF2 and BC2, just want to make sure though.

Protip: Don't camp. You will get rinsed. You could get away with it in bf2.

Don't play public at all, or hardcore. When searching for a server, look for promod, and only play Search and Destroy.

But to answer your first question, yes, you can use it.

I never really camp anyway unless I don't know the map, which doesn't help either way.

It's generally the better players playing promod so starting off with it would probably put you off the game pretty quick. I would go for level 55 on vanilla to get the feel of the game before moving on to promod.

Also finray is an elitist, he's bad at this game really.

I just installed the game, do I need to patch and if so is it like BF2 where I have an incremental patch followed by another one?

I just remember hours of patching issues with BF2 and I'd really like to get it right the first time.

Download them both, then run 1.6 patch then run 1.7 patch and you'll be good to go.
