Jalalabad Car Chase- Tips and Survival Guide

Alrite, so since Trotskygrad/FermatX got the “go ahead” from FM, the Jalalbad car chase will probably be awesome. Since some of you are returning players, or maybe new players, or just regular players, I drew up a small guide. There are  abunch of tips ans strategies you should utilize, and some guides on knowing what to watch out for. If a certain strategy is illegal, it will be indicated that way. Note, this isn’t an official Jalalabad car chase thread, just a guide. Forward all karma to Trotsky and the people who made the maps and organized the event. Anyways, tips!

DPV

Play the game like an enormous game of hide and seek. If you saw an HMMWV doesn’t mean that it saw you as well. So, the best places to go are in the crowded city, or the hills. The humvee’s speed cannot nearly match yours, so it will probably rely on setting traps or having guys with AT launchers in the back. The safest places for you in the city are the fountain or the palace. However, do not stay in those places, use them to shake off pursuers, who cannot match your speed. If you can, get up the hills. The Humvee’s will have a really hard time climbing the hills to kill you. A really good idea is to get behind enemy humvees, since you can kill the passengers and the gunners that way. If you are allowed to exit your vehicle for short periods of time, make sure that you have at least 1 engineer. The person sitting in the side seat using the M249 will be the safest. When someone targets the DPV they usually aim for the driver, the gunner, or the car itself. The person in the side seat does not represent a huge threat, so make them a engineer.

HMMWV (Chaser): The Humvee’s job is to kill people. There will be around ten of you, and you will probably be on the same side, trying to kill the DPV user. Try to attack the DPV from the side, because you get a large target for your HMG. Killing the driver is also a good idea, because it will cripple the DPV.  Attacking from behind is tricky, because the DPV will escape you. Always use the “spot” function on enemy DPV’s, unless you want to claim the kill yourself. Get an engineer, a medic, or an AT in the back seat. The engineers can repair your vehicle and create choke points in crowded jalalabad. The AT trooper can take out the DPV from range, and the medic can heal injured passengers.

I can add those big metal plates leaned up against the cars to make ramps/jumps.

Trust me, nobody hates mic spamming more than me. However, I do talk a lot in the chats...

The muscle car would look good as the car being chased. You could then use the Blues Brothers chase scene music for the audio.
"We got a full tank of juice, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it!"
Boost would also come in handy. Don't need the guns as I can't really see the point in the chased deliberately coming up behind a humvee (to shoot at it)  with an AT and heavy machine gun pointed at them.
I would be willing to fly the little bird as a camera chopper for the BattleRecording (ala Tour de France or World Rally Championship style) and not fire a single shot, although that would give the chasers a bit of a clue if it just followed the chasee all round. Could you make it invisible somehow?
Or give the chased team the littlebird as an ally. Only allowed to spot pursuing cars, not shoot them. Also gives the chasers another target, and can be used to 'lure' the chasers the wrong way if they start to follow the chopper thinking he'll keep running with the chasee. Littlebird could also carry an engi to allow moving repairs for the chasee.

I'll take a random spot as a chaser please if not.

Edit : sorry, just realised I'm in AUS and very far away from you guys. Still keen but I'll bail if it turns out my ping is causing issues for others.

FYI if you enable rcon on the server you can mod it on the fly in-game by entering "rcon exec" followed by ANY code from a .con file.

Although if you want to add new vehicles or buildings that are not in the map you have to make a seperate mod
