mtb0minime started that morbid thread in DST so I figured I'd do him one better.

Electric chair: pretty obvious what it is. A chair that sends an extremely high amount of electricity through the inmate's body, killing him.

Guillotine: a French invention, it's basically a blade that falls and slices your head off

Firing squad: bunch of people with guns shoot you

Gallows: yo head get snapped

Gas chamber: poisonous gas kills you

Lethal injection: inmate is put to sleep, then injected with drugs that stop muscle function, ultimately leading to brain death

Head crusher: mechanical device that literally crushes the head

Guillotine. We got one in work. 4 ft horizontal blade. Safety features include 'magic eyes' across the bed (pardon?) and both hands needed on triggers to operate the blade and clamp.

The clamp will hold the material down while blade cuts through preventing a spread. Picture 1000 sheets of thin plastic (credit card type stuff).

Well my Sister put her finger in the clamp, pulled it down (99.9999% hydraulics), took her foot off the pedal which brings the clamp down, and forgot to take her finger out, it went up, touch the blade and that was that. Dad caught us up at the hospital 30 mins later, bust into the treatment room, and pulled it out of his pocket wrapped in blue tissue. It was too late and too mankey, so my Sister dosent have the top/nail part of her right index finger.

I had my head down in my office on the desk and the kid we had on a weeks work exp is running round looking for me shouting 'Math ya Sister cut the top of her finger off'.

Head Crusher? Really?

I've always seen hanging, (Gallows,) as the most simple, cost-effective and humane way of excecution. Pull a leaver and their neck breaks, short and sharp. If you've got a hangman who knows what he's doing there should be no complications, (too short a fall and victim strangulates = not good, too long and his head pops off = also not good.) I don't really know why places opt for more elaborate ways of execution like Electric Chairs or Lethal Injections or... Head Crushers.
