One of my jobs is a support worker in mental health at a respite house for people with psychiatric disability (or mental illness). The statistics are 1 in 5 people will develop a mental disorder at some stage in their lives, and will seek professional treatment for it.

They're not scary, unless you're the on experiencing them. Or if you work with someone who has an acute level of illness and is going through an episode and you don't know what to do.
