protip: Each weapon in ME1 has 2 or 3 mod-slots.. a "mod" is the special attachment you put on a weapon... heatsinks do as they say, sink heat... thereby reducing cooldown to the level where it can't keep the heat up...Spidery_Yoda wrote:
So you're basically saying that your infinite ammo mod was pretty gay and not the system itself?
The ARs had epic recoil though.FloppY_ wrote:

Even assault rifles could fire 24/7 with a level V heatsink.... that's pretty gay seeing assault rifles are the most powerfull weapons in ME1
more like none once you got a proper one (~level V aswell)... or added a kinetic coil mod...Doctor Strangelove wrote:

Confrimed. Just been there yesterday night. I´m almost four/fifth full Renegade, got the first renegade conversation option, but couldn´t use the second, had to go with the marbl garbl. The game then "chose for me", the Paragon way. Meh.Sisco10 wrote:
I´m about to go on that mission soon, I shall see it myself then.DefCon-17 wrote:
I think you need max renegade/paragon to do it.
I was a little into the last bar of renegade, and it didn't give me the option.
HMMV X pistol with HE rounds and two frictionless barrels with marksman was pretty sweet. Allowed you to fire pretty fast without overheating using HE round which are just badass.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

Sorry misunderstood.
Well yes, by the time I had a Level 60 character, I could basically fire forever as well. But it took a while to get to that stage, and I felt by then I deserved it.
I am not trying to be a ME1 fanboy or a dick here. But I am curious about the "inventory always full" complaints I see a lot. On a character that I was going through my third playthrough with I still was never converting stuff to omni gel really. Other than the weapons/mods/armour myself and my squad was wearing I would keep 1 of each weapon mod and then sell everything else. I never ran out of gel or money (obviously a lot of the selling was at 0 profit as I had the max amount of money). I mean 150 items is a huge inventory, I just dont see how it can be "always full". I played as an infiltrator, so I was opening every single crate as well.Ty wrote:
I reckon a lot of Mass Effect 1 customisation was pointless weapon/equipment micromanaging. Personally I didn't bother with a lot of it and picking up all the shit just made it difficult when I had to omnigel my inventory to fit some decent shit in later. Tedious.
I prefer the ME2 system tbh, although the old system was ok. It was just annoying that the menu to manage the inventory and selling was so clumsy. I had to scroll up and down to see whether I had a Tungsten Round V so I could sell teh IV one. Same with armor and weapons. Paired with the fact that you get swamped with loot even if you´re unable to open every crate, it gets tedious really fast.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

I appreciate that people like different things and I am not saying anyone is wrong here. I just hate how so many franchises that arent RTS gradually turn into first or third person shooters with a token "stats" system.
Fallout series -> TPS with stats
TES series -> TPS with stats
ME series -> the original was obviously very TPS already, I am not denying that. ME2 was much less RPG though.
I know there are exceptions (eg. DA:O, KOTOR series).

welll. IMO Fallout got a lot worse, TES got worse in some aspects and better in others, and ME got better in general.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

Developers dumbing it down to appeal to a greater audience to make more money etc.Miggle wrote:

I'm with you that the singleplayer RPG is dying, which is a catastrophe, because my favourite games of all time are all FPSRPGS.
Just look at the change from SS2 to Bioshock, Bioshock hardly has any RPG elements left in it.

we don't need developers that care about game quality, we need consumers who do.FloppY_ wrote:

We really need more developers that are more dedicated to their passion for games than their wallets... I bet blizzard will manage to screw up Diablo III, unless it comes bundled with Duke Nukem Forever that is...
