Anyone played this? Just picked it up today, although I admit I'm not 100% sure even though I got it! After the hell that was Bayonetta I'm not sure if I can cope with another crazy hack-n-slash GoW-type game that makes no sense.

Ah well will post thoughts once I've played it a bit. Just wondering if there's any interest in this game in general...

Well, they have an absolutely amazing (the best) story you could ever hope to base a game off, so if they fuck it up there is simply no excuse.

I couldn't really get an idea of what the game play is like from the trailers. However, from what I have seen, it looks entertaining for one play through, but I don't see any reason someone would go back and play this twice or more.

edit: just watched some game play video.

My conclusion: Soul Reaper did it first.

You know I'm not entirely sure about it. I lost interest in the game because it was along the lines of an action genre, instead of an adventure genre which would have followed true to the book and still been an interesting game. I stand by my previous statement because it looks nothing more than a beat-em-up ala God of War.

I think in the trailer Beatrice calls out "Dante." Nevertheless, the hell in Dante's vision was a cold and dark place devoid of fire which was a sign of life and passion. The idea of a fiery hell is not from Dante's Divine Comedy.

I wasn't very impressed with this game. It was a mindless hack-n-slash with the same enemies over and over.....and over. It seemed to be pretty good looking but it was just kind of boring. I think I finished the game in 6-7 hours and I usually take longer than most. Also, those fucking machete babys were just annoying.
