Dubbed "The Passing," the first game add-on for L4D2 brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay.
Targeted for release in early spring, "The Passing" takes place just after the Dead Center campaign of L4D2. Set in a small town in rural Georgia, players assume the role of the L4D2 Survivors as they meet with the L4D1 characters.
In addition to the new co-operative campaign and associated narrative, "The Passing" will include new arenas for Survival, Versus and Scavenge mode and introduce a new co-operative challenge mode of play. The Passing will also include a new "uncommon common" zombie class, melee weapon, and firearm.
"The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign," said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. "It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry."

First screen shots of The Passing
Valve released new details on the first down loadable add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 today at Microsoft's X10 event, explaining how "The Passing" will handle the meet up with the original Left 4 Dead survivors.
These ten new screens of the new episode, coming to the PC and Xbox 360 in "late March," show off the new "Savannah-esque" coastal town setting and the new Fallen Survivor infected. He's the unlucky undead wearing the bucket hat, bandolier and Molotov cocktail in some of these shots.
You'll also get a peek at what appears to be a new machine gun and the new Black Tie common zombie.

Can't wait for this add-on. It almost looks like Coach is holding an M-60 in one of those screenies but i'm not sure.
That's a lot of medkits on those zombies.
2nd pic, Ellis is using the M-60.HudsonFalcon wrote:

I do believe that they are Vampires.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

Uncommon are just that... uncommon. So they won't be around often, and they can drop anything you can carry.. the chance of a Medkit will be pretty low.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

Yeah I didn't mean there's be a lot of medkits to use. Just that there's a lot of medkits there.
The Passing gameplay.

I'm so glad Chet inverts the Y-Axis controls.
Anybody who doesn't is a fool.
Oh wait maybe that's why the Xbox players are so bad at the Bad Company 2 demo. Aaaaaaaaaaaaah I understand now. Come on people it's basic control 101. You invert the Y-Axis in order to play the game. Simple as that. Kids these days honestly.
I'm so glad that the Xbox has a setting in the console itself that makes it so every new game or demo I play has the setting changed for me already.

Not having the Y-axis inverted on a controller is beyond retardation.
Well I'm used to up being up and down being down. So I don't have it inverted.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

I'd say for flying choppers/jets, yes, but for combat, no. When I push the stick up, I expect the aim to go up.. not down.. what's the point in that?Spidery_Yoda wrote:

Because when you pull down on the stick, the part that tells the controller what to do is moving upwards. When you push the stick upwards, the input is moving downwards. It's just far far more intuitive. I have a lot more control that way.
Pushing up and having the aim move upwards feels clumsy, imprecise, counter intuitive, and plain wrong.
Plus i've been using inverted controls since Goldeneye on the N64.

I also play with inverted Y-Axis when playing on console. PC I keep it the way it is 'cause it's my hand doing the movement not my finger.
