Found it funny and entertaining. If a little unfaithful.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Fuck yes, love that sound.TheTrueQuaid wrote:
The Plasma gun in Doom 3 had the best firing/reload sound in any game ever!

It was a fun game even with the monster closets.
Far from the mark, yes (took place on the wrong planet ffs), but still way closer than the movie.AussieReaper wrote:

But they were both far from the mark, really.
Its possible to get plasma cells in the first level, which is strange. You'd think it'd be an SMG are something, but no, its a cache of ammo for a gun you won't get until another 5 levels.Phrozenbot wrote:
I actually got the secret plasma gun the hard way. I jumped from the stair railing onto one of those hanging lamps and then made it on the pipes. Dumb me... I didn't know what opening the vent shafts did until later on. I probably missed some cells on the way too in some of those cabinets. If only you could find the plasma gun secretly much earlier. It's on the next stage in Alpha Labs 4, and there's like 3 places where you can find it.
I prefer green plasma over blue though
I hate games that make you squirrel away rare pieces of ammo, afraid to use it in case you really need it at some point...which turns out to be never. You can get along fine with bullet weapons in Doom 3.Phrozenbot wrote:
Better than not having them I suppose. I saved all my cells until I couldn't pick up more before I used the plasma gun. It's a great gun, but I don't like how it throws enemies around even if they are still alive. I get confused if I killed them or not. It's a good all-around weapon though, with fast reload. Plenty of cells once you get it.
