would you rather mine or have 1000000 upgrades clogging your inventory.

I prefer mining over driving the mako endless times on ridiculously mountainous planets to end up shooting 2 dozen terrorists/extremists/farmers/whatever.

Mining is kinds repetitive though. To say the least.

Yes the unexplored planets were extremely repetitive, grindy and mostly uninteresting as well, and involved far far too much climbing. A chore.

But then you'd land on a planet that was deep red with a huge blue planet dominating the skyline and suddenly I didn't care about all the other times because it looked so beautiful and alien, and I really enjoyed driving through it.

I just wish the mining was a little less time consuming and slow.

True dat, but that was one planet out of ten.
A bigger scanner circle would increase the pleasure of mining.

Yeah I hate mining. Was cool the first time but after that it's just annoying.

The new hacking system is pretty cool though.

Going through the game again on the highest difficulty. Insanity is exactly what the difficulty is...Insane. Getting massively raped by Blue Suns and bloody Scions.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
WTF, Goddamn the Praetorian on Horizon. Absolutely raped Jack and Grunt within 15 seconds

Lol. All the conversations have vastly improved. The talking in ME1 was pretty damn good, but in this one, it´s awesome. Joker and Edi and the tow techincians in the basement are so damn funny.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
I´m not really a fan of the new Krogan, Grunt though. Somehow Wrex had much more style and wit.

Holy shit, I found a usable Geth Pulse Rifle

It's pretty much an automatic vindicator AR with insane accuracy and rate of fire

It didn't show up on my previous playthrough, so Im guessing its only acquirable on higher difficulties...

I think you get it if Legion dies in the end, not sure. Same thing happened with me.

Also, i should play through again and see what other funny shit i can find. Talking to joker every once in a while yields some funny results.

Like when He, Shepard and Legion were talking about the geth base and joker was doing robotic movements and making beep boop beep boop sounds

I looked at the guide and you can get the Geth Pulse AR if you're doing the game on hardcore mode.

it seems that the Reapers used the Rachni as agents in a previous attempt to wipe out all galactic life.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
I was quite disappointed with the end boss. It just felt.. extremely lame to be fighting a huge robot human torso. I actually grimaced when it appeared and they said they design reapers to be like the species they're made of. It just looked stupid and spoiled the whole feel of everything. I lost Legion but i'm not going to replay it to save him. I'm going to make it so what happened happened with my default play throughs. The 'Suicide Mission' in general seemed very tame and un-epic compared to the ending of ME1 where you're running up the outside of the citadel tower with Sovereign looming overhead the entire time.

That aside though, the image of all the reaper ships at the edge of the Milky Way made up for the retarded robot, and the rest of the game was superb. The way all your ME1 actions were mentioned was brilliant. I'm glad we'll be seeing more of the same in ME3. But now we're going to have to wait years for it .

Another thing. I went ahead with the romance with Tali specifically because I really wanted to see what was under that mask. Needless to say I was disappointed. Shepard got a look at her. I didn't. I feel a bit guilty about it too because now i'm fairly sure she's going to die from illness in ME3.

Well. It was definitely worth waiting for and very likely to be my game of the year. Loved the first one to bits and this one improved nearly everything. The story was a fair bit weaker (IMO) but everything else was great. I played as a Vanguard with the awesome awesome charge ability, and i've just started again where i'm playing as an Infiltrator. I miss the charge attack already.

Yeah the boss fight was shit... But I think overall the dialogue and overall story developed a lot better than ME1. Would have been a lot epic if you had to fight the Collector General who keeps on reviving (HARBINGER DONT COUNT). I liked the diversity of the worlds A LOT better. Thank god they got rid of the fucking mako because shit got old so quick. Needs more cool solar systems tbh (BLUE SUNS FTW).

Question: Do you get more sniper/pistol ammo capacity as the Infiltrator class?

I only had something like 8 rounds of sniper rifle ammo as the soldier guy with the starting sniper rifle.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
You know the more I think about it the more disappointed I am with the story on the whole, simply because there wasnt one.

The story from beginning to end: You recruit a bunch of team mates then attack a collector base.

I mean sure while I was playing I didn't notice, because the game itself was full to the brim of stories for each character, which was great and extremely well done. But the story on the whole, the continuation of the 'Reapers coming to attack earth' thing was really lacking. It's not a big Sci-Fi epic, it's a collection of short stories.

To put what I mean in perspective:

In the first game you discover the prothean beacon, you learn of a threat, you travel to various planets and slowly discover that it's not just the Geth that are at work, but an ancient race of killer machines who want to stop life from becoming too complex (or just destroy them all, I dunno, you never learn their true motives), you then discover that the citadel and all the mass relays were also built by the Reapers as bait for intelligent life and that the Geth and a reaper are about to attack. You then fight off the reapers as they attack the Citadel and buy humanity some time for the inevitable invasion. Awesome stuff and while I hate the way the word has been overused lately, it was rather epic in scope.

But Mass Effect 2 was just:

You recruit some squad members and attack a collector base.

Again, dont get me wrong, I loved it and played for 10+ hours each day since I bought it until I finished it. But the story just wasnt there. At all.
