How do you usually approach games that have strong offline and online components? Play online when the game first comes out and matches are full and bumping, even if it means not knowing the context or story of what's going on? Play single-player first to get a hang of things? Finish single-player completely to get all the context, even if it means that when you eventually get online, you'll be the noob... if the multiplayer isn't dead already? Or do you try and split it up and progress through each a little at a time?

In the case of MW2, I never played SP, since it's a big pile of wank.
I normally play a bit of multiplayer, and play SP when I can't get on the net, or if I'm downloading or something.

Edit 2: That's the 141 or whatever missions btw...not the boring USMC ones.

I usually finish SP, then play MP

I always finish the SP then play MP, so i can get the hang of the controls so when I start playing MP, i don't make a complete tard of myself... just a lil tard.
everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously. ♥
I'm the second option, 100% single player, then move on to multi. I like to get the hang of things and know what I'm doing. Plus, the experience eventually comes to an end, at which point I can move on to the online mode and not have missed anything. If I start multiplayer right away, I'd probably wind up playing only that and miss out on quite a bit of solo fun.
Lol the singleplayer is shite. At least you can have fun annoying people in Multiplayer.DefCon-17 wrote:

BF2 was the last multiplayer game I ever played online.
So just play the SP always.

Really depends on the game.
MW/MW2... don't play the MP. BFBC... play both.

141 missions are awesome.Finray wrote:

Not 100% completing, but finishing the story line, if there is any, and then moving on to MP.
Generally I'll play the SP first and get a decent way through it before contemplating MP.

I play SP a bit to get the hang of it for about an hour then next time i play the game i go on MP.
Game dependent.

The general mechanics of all CoD games are kinda terrible. Shoot a never-ending spawn of enemies, wait for a lull in the waves, move up 15 feet. Repeat over and over.DefCon-17 wrote:

The storylines are quite awesome, however, until MW2.
play sp later on usually stright to mp.
Blackbelts are just whitebelts who have never quit.

I know many people that'll never touch SP and go straight for the MP and they will stay there until they get bored of the game.
To me this way it's a waste of money a torrent.

All of singleplayer, then go to multiplayer

I'll always finish SP first unless if there is no 'story' to it or if the SP sucks.
