Torchlight. It's brilliant. I never play this sort of game, (D&D), I've never played Diablo or anything like that. The time invested is just ridiculous, but this is quite fun and runs really smooth.

Spells, attacks, potions, etc are all at the bottom. I'm the guy with the axe and ice sword. Dual wield lol

D2 although a fun game, was more a hack and slash adventure game then a proper RPG.

Get Mass Effect. It´s awesome. If you play and like KotOR (which is one of the best RPG´s ever imo), you will like it too. Awesome dialogue system (your character actually speaks, lol), greatly developed characters, good story.
The side missions are a bit boring and repetative though, but there´s no need to do all of them.
The places you visit while following the main plot are distinct and awesome to look at.

All in all a most definite must-play!
