If he's buying it himself I'm sure he has the money, If his parents are buying it for them he can leech off of them ask them to help maintain it.

That being said

A set of spark plugs for a BMW here would require you to mortgage your house.

I voted for the Celica. That Toyota engine has a lot of potential and the car itself has a nice aftermarket support. If you want anything out that BMW, you're going to be swapping motors.

Save yourself the hassle of maintenance costs and potential lack of reliability and get the Celica.

I'm sorry but how did some of you come to the conclusion that celicas are for faggots.... is it the "sporty aerodynamic" style? Seriously..... fkn stereotypes. I love the look, what's wrong with that? And dont just read this and ignore it.. answer me.

Both my parents own BMWs, and i went to them and asked about the costs.... it's a fuck load... costs like 150 just to change a cup holder... wtf m8

I'm leaning towards the celica at the moment, however, if another car catches my eye.. who knows.

Celica is the obvious choice of course ... and I'm as objective as a employee at a Toyota dealership can be

Because you live in Australia, go the Celica, it will be heaps cheaper to maintain and is a pretty awesome car.   Plus the Beamers plates read No Fucking Idea (NFI).

If you're looking at a Celica and you're in Australia, you might also look into a 200SX. Very reliable motors.
