Final Fantasy 8; best FF ever.

Over my ban I played Final Fantasy 8 again for the third time. I have to say it was the best FF8, better than 10, X2, and even 7.
Just look at the opening seems pretty epic.

I liked it so much I brought myself a gunblade and have it on display on my dresser, only take it down when I have women come over.

I've only ever played Final Fantasy 10, I got right upto the bit where you had to fight Sin aka giant sky Whale thingy, infact actually I think I ended up inside it or something afterwards, can't remember now. It was ok, first time I've ever played a proper Jap style RPG outside of pokemans. Not really my style, and the random battles pissed me off

At least in pokemans you could avoid them by staying out of the long grass and shit like that

You can avoid the random battles in FF8 also, you just have to level up the GF Diablo to the point where he gets no "No encounter" ability.

And the storyline would've been better if it didn't have all that bullshit romantic crap in it, and by the looks of it, every FF game has some sort of bullshit romance intertwined into the actual plot which serves only to enrage and waste time

I've always thought 8 was the best, all my friends were FF7 fanbois though.

But yeah, I loved FF8. Definitely the best single player game I've played, just thinking about it brings back so many awesome memories of playing it with my friends and talking about the story and whatnot.

I preferred the story and characters in 7, the materia system was good too. 8 is a better game though, and the Raganrok pwns face.

I've only played 7 and 8 (and Dissidia, but that doesn't count). 7 was terrible, couldn't get into it, I quit after 30 min. 8 was awesome. I hate RPGs, they're boring, and just a whole lot of boring tasks and quests... However, 8 was great, I loved it. I've played through it many times and have done all the quests and whatnot.
