Hi All,
only finally gotten around to joining the forum last week, thought id better show some support for the GTX295 boys ! - ill dig out some pics of the rig, but heres the specs forum now:
CPU: Intel Q9550 @ 3.8 Ghz
CPU Cooling: TRUE (Copper) with two Sunon Denki 38mm fans in push/pull
RAM: 8GB Corsair (DDR3-1600)
GPU: BFG GTX295
Mobo: Asus Striker 2 Extreme
HDDs:
Primary - 320GB Velociraptor
Storage - 2 x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black
PSU: 850W OCZ
Sound: Creative Fatal1ty Titanium Pro
Case: Antec 1200
Monitor: Philips 220c (22 inch widescreen)
I also use an old Dell XPS M1710 lappie for when im mobile. both use Logitech G5 mice (and G15 keyboard for the main rig).
Heres a question for you - if you were going to upgrade the monitor given the rig above, what would you go for ? - im looking at 24 inch widescreens at the moment and about a year ago i would have said Dell ultra sharp no question, but there are some great panels out now and im confused - answers on a postcard !.
Cheers,
R.

It scares me that such a thing could be necessary.max wrote:

Not necessary. I just didn't have a high wattage PSU that could drive an i7, 3 G92s, 9 HDDs and a bunch of other junk. These 2 400W now do the job of a single PSU

No problem. 1KW+ PSUs are only really necessary when you start running 8GPUs, 2 CPUs, loads of HDDs, etc.

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
Did a bit of cleaning and cable management. Also changed the rear fan to something a little more powerful. Upped the shader clocks to 1439MHz.

Well, when you only have one rig, it's easy to keep on top of it.max wrote:
