So what of people who do not adhere to the Bible (not necessarily atheist, but just not believing in the Bible)? Are they going to be cast into hell by a deity they don't even acknowledge as existing? Their supernatural being / icon / dominating factor in their religion is their opinion of the true "god". (God being used in a VERY generic sense). How do you know that YOU won't be condemned for not following the "one and only" religion. My opinion on religion is this:

If you believe in something, stick with it and don't change bc of somebody else's views, NOR change them to yours.

God loves everybody, including gays and lesbians. Being gay is no more of a sin and a lot of other things. Its just different so it people pay more attention to it. People who stand with signs saying God hates gays and that they are all gona go to hell are just hypocrites.

Where did i say He approves of what they do?

It doesnt say that anywhere in the bible. They are racists, they should be trying to help them out and love them.

Yes I'm very well aware of that, but he said nowhere in the Bible does it state that gays/lesbians should be put to death.  I was merely correcting him on that point.

One of my major gripes with Christians is how they pick and choose the segments of the Bible they want to substantiate their viewpoint, but don't want to accept it as all or nothing.  As an example, when you point out how violent God was in the old testament, they say that God changed his approach and sent us his son, who was sacrificed for our sins, thus the new testament, and a much more generous, forgiving god, but as soon as you start talking about gays/lesbians, and other topics, they scoot right on back to the old testament to support their viewpoint.

has anyone talked about how sacred marriage is in america.  it's such a sacred, honored union that half of all of them end in divorce.  but this all goes back to the fact the conservative/southern stated are destroying this country.  the state with the lowest divorce rate just happens to be that same state that legalizes gay marriage. man oh man, where to these new hampshire liberals get off legalizing the expansion of an institution, expecially when they are the most sucessful at it? oh wait.  and guess which states have the highest divorce rates per capita and the most vocal oppostion to gay marriage?  southern gems like: alabama, arkansas, mississippi, kansas, texas.  its the same with taxes, the red states hate taxes and elect morons, the blue states pay most of the taxes, and then the red states benefit most from the taxes.  you think a state that exists off of federal corn subsidies would ever be blue?

its the same hypocritical crap as always, doesn't matter if its gay marriage or abortion or taxes or whatever, the evangelicals think its their job to steer this country in their direction.  away from common sense and rational thought, and civil liberties.
