Well he did also play the MP for L4D, but both TF2 and TF2 were PC games that were made by Valve who whose focus were solely on the multiplayer.

I used "faceless" as a general term to articulate how he doesn't really seem like a real person to most people. Most see him as either a name next to some text or a talking head in some videos. No one can really relate to him, so no one really has empathy for him as such they treat him differently then they would if they were to meet him face-to-face. So the death-threats are undeserved, but the people making them aren't crazy. Also 402 is a human but he's also a douche.

If more developers take this route than it is the gaming apocalypse for PC. You'll have no MP experience, at all. How hard is that to work out?
Plus the fact that you played the game for maybe 10 hours and didn't like it says nothing about how good the game is. CoD4's biggest problem, since the beginning, has not been that it's a bad game but rather the bad playerbase.

It's hard to work out because gaming's already getting worse without it, this isn't any sort of turning point...
This isn't the end of the world, and it's certainly not the worst thing that's happened to PC gaming.

I have enjoyed small games with friends, but you practically have to outlaw every part of the game for it to be remotely enjoyable, and even if you do that it's nowhere near as good as its predecessors.
