Yeah, tracking cookies are just browser-cookies that 'tracks' your browsing behaviour for those big faceless companies in the background of the Internet-world, selling your statistics and information to tons of tech-companies and random IT research companies. Nothing personal is really tracked, they just basically turn you into a statistic. They're classed as 'dangerous' by virus scans because they are a technical invasion of privacy, and track stuff that you'd rather remained confidential or private. As for the porn allegations... yeah, possibly, or more likely from those dodgy underground torrent/pirate sites . Generally any website to do with the naughty or illegal side of the Internet will be laced with these cookies.

I don't know for sure it if could be a keylogger... if several accounts are being hacked at once, either Schloppy is really fucking with you, or you're dealing with a pretty nasty infection or scam. Make sure you scan using proper virus-ware and trojan-removers as well as the spyware bots.

*urgh* HijackThis logs suck. I hate looking through those things while fixing computers.

Incredibly useful tool but i still hate flicking through the logs of other people's computers trying to figure out what's dodgy and what's not.

Get that Eset NOD32 thing and malawarebytes. They should pick up most trojans/keyloggers etc.

Also, you should be packing a decent firewall if you want to torrent shit.

The scan I left going overnight went and got replaced by the scheduled scan at 8AM didn't it?

From what I remember at about 6 o'clock this hazy morning was that I ended up with about 60 tracker cookies and two trojans. Could be wrong though, I'll wait until the scan has finished again.

Also, I feel really fucking stupid, I forgot I changed my password to MSN yesterday. That's why my password didn't work >.<

I don't think it was down to anything I had downloaded, I finished the scan and the only thing that came up were tracker cookies. I even stuck in all my burnt media and scanned that, came up clean. Someone someone figured out my password.

Read the user comments on your torrent tracker and you'll never get a virus from pirating.
finray this happened to me when i got hacked through xfire - they also fucked with my steam account. you have to take a pic of the serial on the box of the game and send that to steam to prove your account is yours.

I got it sorted. Had to give the credit card details which Daddy used to buy TF2 online.

Revive. Yeah my steam account just got hacked. Just got some movies from my brother and turns out there were 14 viruses buried in there. Bastard. Anyway, steam says I have to take a picture of the CD key on my game. Does anyone know if this means just one of my games? or all of them?

I just emailed steam support and they got it back for me.  Didn't have to take any pics at all.

Just one picture should do.

And as soon as you get it back, go on settings and 'verify email address'. From then on, any attempt to change your password won't go through until you confirm it via email.

Everybody should do this.
