Yep. That is raytracing. If you ask me, DAMN that is impressive. That is done in big server cluster. In 10 years a home PC should be able to do that in real time. Prepare to be amazed.

Those with the very rare configuration of having an ATI GPU for rendering graphics and a Nvidia chip for processing hardware PhysX will find themselves unable to compute.

Anyone running Nvidia driver version 186 will find PhysX acceleration disabled when ATI hardware is also present in the system, SlashGear reported.

Nvidia customer service responded to a user regarding the issue, saying, "Nvidia supports GPU accelerated Physx on NVIDIA GPUs while using NVIDIA GPUs for graphics. NVIDIA performs extensive Engineering, Development, and QA work that makes Physx a great experience for customers."

The email continued to list a couple of reasons why the Nvidia GPU would refuse to accelerate PhysX, with one of them being, of course, for business.

"For a variety of reasons – some development expense some quality assurance and some business reasons NVIDIA will not support GPU accelerated Physx with NVIDIA GPUs while GPU rendering is happening on non- NVIDIA GPUs," it read. "I’m sorry for any inconvenience caused but I hope you can understand."
Was gonna look into nv cards for an HTPC.

NOT ANYMORE LOL!

I finally got around to updating my Lappy OS. I went from Vista home 32 to Windows 7 ultimate 64. Talk about a big difference.. . I've had 7 on my other machines but putting it on my laptop was pure win . Now for the reinstalls.

Nothing in stock over here either. The demand for them is higher than Intel can supply.

Hahah lol @ AMD badmouthing NVIDIA PhysX. At least they got some games using it already and more coming soon. Instead of ATi I am yet to see physics running on their hardware even tho they were promising that years ago.

I still have my my X800, but still none of those empty promises they made about physics.

If I wanted to dual boot XP and Win 7 I would have to purchase the full retail version of Win 7 right? I don't think I could use the retail upgrade version to dual boot?
Came across this to be a bit helpful to me.
