I'm a leader on a retreat and I need to make a CD with reflection music. Its mainly background music, so no lyrics if possible. Someone suggested the Friday Night Lights theme song (the television one). I'm just looking for suggestions, so if you have some it'd be great if you could post them here. thanks
Something by Queen.
The Album Leaf
These albums: In a Safe Place, Into the Blue Again
There may be 2 or 3 songs with vocals but the rest are instrumental

Brian Eno's "Music for Airports".
It's probably the most amazing piece of ambient music I've ever heard. He mentions this in the liner notes, that the music is such that if you pay attention to it, you can catch it and enjoy it as much as any other kind of music, but if you're not paying attention, you might not even know it's there. It really is remarkable.
Hmm, although on second thought, it's not necessarily "reflection music", but check it out anyway to be sure.
EDIT: Other artists: As ebug mentioned, The Album Leaf is good. Also check out Boards of Canada. Harold Budd.

Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, Don Ross, Tommy Emmanuel. Some of their stuff would be ideal, it's fingerstyle acoustic.
Some Penguin Cafe Orchestra might work too.

blonde redhead, has lyrics but its soft and relaxing.
City in Color always relaxes me nice slow acoustic music and very good too
Sigur Rós is another option.
I was going to say his 'An ending (Ascent)'. I quite like it, good for that type of stuff. Dunno why, but I seem to prefer this type of music to everything else.mtb0minime wrote:
