Not to your flip flopping.........

And I will stand by my "good riddance" comment........the more gangstas and street thugs that kill each other the less burdon the tax payer will have in keeping them imprisoned.

damn it. Just when I thought you two actually agreed on something, you find something new to argue about.

Nevertheless, you still have 38 minutes

maybe I'll let this one slide if you continue in a serious way. I know you can do it.

On topic: I don't know how many of the deaths nuttah listed were related to rap/hip hop related violence.
The one case you guys discussed seemed to be a simple ( tragic, still ) case of robbery/murder.

The victim was a member of a rap(hip hop group, but that was not the reason he was killed.

Personally, I think it is well possible that celebrities ( or those who want to become celebrities ) are willing to pull a stunt or two to get media attention. Wether that would include fake shootings, I don't know. But I wouldn't consider it totally impossible.

"Whatever.  Maybe in the same way that a normal hit is 'staged.'  Someone wants you dead because you pissed them off, so they pay someone to shoot you.  Or are you saying that if it was someone else in your record company who stands to gain by your death that makes it 'fake'.  I think like most of this things it usually traces back to money (and publicity, but for the benefit of the victim, just those who profit from the death)."
I said that it isn't faked.  How the hell can you read something but think it says something completely different!!!!!!!!!  The mind truly boggles.
You said this:

"I think like most of this things it usually traces back to money (and publicity, but for the benefit of the victim, just those who profit from the death)."

When I said they are killing each other for basically the same thing in an earlier post, you had a problem with it.......So you are right the mind truly does boggle....your flip flopping would do Kerry proud.
I didn't disagree that money and publicity (not for the victim... I'm refering specifically to the TuPac/Shug Knight situation where someone in the record label stood to profit from the death and publicity of the victim) may be traced to the root of many shootings.  But that doesn't make the shootings 'staged' or 'faked' and it doesn't mean the victim deserved to die, in my opinion.

I can see that I've missed the word "not" in the original sentence which is my mistake.  But that is perhaps what is causing the confusion on my views.  It should read "but not for the benefit, but since I was refering to fatal shootings I'm sure most people clocked my meaning, as the victim could hardly be a beneficiary in this situation.  But please accept my apologies for missing a word out and seemingly creating this confusion for you.

Where did I say that money wasn't the motive behind most hip hop artist murders?

But he was specifically targetted because they knew he had money in his house in the rough end of Oakland because he was in a hip hop group.  So isn't the reason he was killed because he was in a hip hop group?

Edit:  Allegedly 50 Cent had Jam Master Jay killed, after someone on his label Murder Inc. started plotting to kill Fifty because of lyrics he wrote which incriminated them.

Mac Dre was killed in what appears to be a hit.  They never managed to prove who killed him, but the main suspect Fat Tone was allegedly murdered by Mac Minister in 2005, who was arrested last month.

Edit:  I seem to have mixed up two different Jay Dee's when I hastily prepared the first list: Jay Dee AKA J Dilla died of natural causes, it was a different Jay Dee who got shot to death:

Please pull this post with my blessing, Anyone can read the qeustion I asked. It was not an attack on anyone's culture ( god forbid ). Even the HBO program "The Soprano's " had a ( fake Rapper hit ) as an Episode. Complete with The artists premoters telling him. He had " more bullets wounds than tupac and only two less than 50 cent " I always wondered if some were faked, and I asked. no more than that.

It must be sad if a Rapper is the only thing you have to look up too.

it is always sad when someone is murdered, hip hop artist or not. I don't live in the US and I don't know much about hip hop culture, but if all that East Coast - West Coast war stuff is true and not just a media stunt pulled by the key figures in the business, I would say those who engage in those acitivities know what they risk.

I have always believed a lot of it is made up by the media to increase the hype around rap artists like 50 cent or eminem.

I agree with lowing in part. Every single one of them is in the business due to his own free will, and I will shed no tear for someone who dies while willingly fighting it out ( using semi-automatics ) with the next rap group over some lyrics.

No one forced them to become rappers. If the business is really that dangerous, get out or get som new company. After all, it is possible to be a hip hop artist without having a violent, street-thug image.

I personally (yes, I am sadistic), couldn't care less about rapper deaths. I don't like rap and see no reason to give them any extra attention.

Well, it doesn't matter what I think of hip hop, the music isn't the point I am trying to make. With the hip hop music out of the scenerio all you have left are street thugs and gang bangers. The fact that they sing hip hop is quite irrelevant. The are just TALANTED street thugs and gang bangers. It isn't like if they lost their singing voice they would go find gainful employment and live the American dream. That is why I don't care what they do to each other.

Same as I don't care if some million dollar head banger or athelete, blows his fame and money and life on coke and booze. I say good riddance to them as well.

Also, good riddance to bad rubbish. A welcome loss or departure. This expression is often used as an exclamation.
