Movie was good imo. I never read the book though, so i gave it a 4/5

Never seen this version. But the French mini series Le comte de Monte Cristo is one of my all time favourite movies. Yet even being over 6 hours in length it still missed many bits from the book, so I can't see how an 'ordinary' length film can portray the complexity of the story properly.
And to prove my point, the modern day Hollywood remake was complete shit.
