Is that the easy way out? i'm looking for something to put up a simple website, not hosted.
Dreamweaver is probably the best one. There are other's, but it's the only one I've used.

Notepad man. Actually in Windows I use pspad, I've never trusted the output from any WYSIWYG editor.

You can't really rely on the output of a WYSIWYG too much. Best to check it in an actual browser periodically.

No matter how well you program or think you program you have to test it in the actual browser. Javascript libraries like jQuery and Dojo will reduce javascript issues. CSS though is its own mess with browsers typically creating their own extensions (i.e. -moz-...) or in IE (i.e. <!-[if ie7 leq ...) hacks.
You can usually trust a WYSIWYG editor for macro things, but you'll need to know how to edit the markup manually for all these special cases.
And with HTML 5 gain popularity you can rest assured that editors will have bugs or create incompatible markup until things stabilize.
