Well they sure illuminated the fuck out of peoples insides lol . And you say " as depicted " . But then the article says that it CAN be used against enemy troops  by the Generals that support it and he said that they DID use it in Fallujha .It's obvious that they used it , they even addmit it . I think they denied it at first because of the unwanted bad publicity that civilians got killed . But hey , if you fuck up then bear the brunt of it . Just don't try to cover it up with lies . A lie only lasts a few days/weeks in todays information age .

Anyhow I don't really give a rats ass to tell you the truth . I just don't like being bullshitted to . I mean what's the difference ? Why tell the press we DIDN'T use them and then say we did ? If it was " cool " to use in the first place then why even bother to deny it ?

Well, I don't think this is going to turn into a serious debate any time soon, since the movie is inconclusive and the US has already admitted to having used WP in Iraq. War is s dirty affair, nothing new here.

And since the original poster seems to have disappeared, I'd like to close this.

look, i personnaly think that chemical weapons is one of the most cowardless and the most disgusted ways to use it in big amount on places with a high risk of Civilian causualties. especialy on such horrible way they die.

nice post. chemical weapons started being used in world war 1... i agree w/ you that as a soldier in Iraq you cant trust every driver or civilian, since the insurgeancy started to rise dramatically... why are they still fighting tahts what i want to ask... everytime they bomb something, we see 20 iraqi's dead and what 2 americans? WP is a bad weapon of war... so was depleted uranium shells...

Using chemical weapons to illuminate an area is a load of crap, if it sets an area on fire how can you capture the area (and would'nt smoke from fires affect your ability to see and move) , if its poisonous to inhale why would any sane person consider dropping it on an urban area when civilians are known to be in the area.

Im a mere reservist in the Irish Army. It has to be the biggest joke in the world when it comes to equipment etc (not the regulars, they get everything. Spoiled.....)  but even we seem to have a way of illuminating an area, we use paralumes. There realiable,cheap and plentiful with the ability to light up a large area and unlike the stuff used in that video they take ages to fall to the ground.

An added bonus, which I never taught of before seeing the clip, is that they dont kill all in there path as they hit the ground and never leave a toxic dust in peoples homes (therefor not pissing of the local population and encouraging people to join the insurgency). NOTE: They could kill you if you were covered in petrol and one landed on you, but thats probalby the least of your troubles if your in a war zone covered in petrol!

Using such weapons seems to me anyway as a way of playing into terrorists hands. If I was an Iraqi who was slightly annoyed at the US because they've failed to provide me with a safe enviroment to live my life and I saw this clip (even if it was completly biased it still has the "shock" factor) I go crazy with rage! An Al Zaquiri would have another devote follower in Iraqi.

These sort of tactics seems to be comming from narrow minded military leaders who have deluded themselves into thinking they can win this fight with conventional tactics. In Northern Ireland the British not once lost control of entire city to hardline Republicans, perhaps they, with there wealth of experience fighting such conflicts should be placed in control of such operations in the future? (Crazy I know, just taught i'd put it out there).

I didnt support the war in the begining but strangly enough I support it now (Not that it matters, im not American or British), as I believe the US owes it to the Iraqi people to stand by its promise of a secure democracy (which it is doing, whats the US death toll now?) and other nations should offer constructive advice and support instead of fumming of the origins of the war.

But the above clip (of the illumination stuff only, the documentry was a load of anti-US crap) only makes the situation worse by polarizing people and ideas, while alienating others who may support you.

Illegal??  so i assume the massacure of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis is fine with you.  I didn't go into this war for oil, money, or anything else physical.  I went into this war to do what should of been done a decade ago.  Liberate a country ruled through terror.  I am very proud of my country for finnally sticking to its guns and seeing this threw to the end. 

You know what happened to all the iraqi rebel back in the 90s who helped us out liberated Kuwait?  Well I'm sure it wasn't a very nice end...just because the US pulled back due to "world opinion".

Now, I know there are always more than one reason to goto war.  There are alot of other factors.  I argee with you there.  But fuck man, what if that was you in iraq?  What if that was your daughter raped by saddam's sons?  What if you couldn't do anything about it or they would kill the rest of your family?  Try walking in someone elses shoes.  I know alot of guys coming back from the dunes and generally the people there are happy with the change.  Blame the media for showing all the hate and discontent, which is the minority.

I think alot of people here have never seen the carnage of combat horse.  Those pics look horrible to them.

What makes me laugh, time and time again. Is as soon as someone says anything against your opinion you call us simple minded. That to me is not taking into account the other persons point of view.

I am sick of America saying what the rest of the world should do, and then not even following its own rules.

What i really wanted you to know, is that by your support of the war, people that have nothing to do with it are dying. People are dying so that you can have oil,  so that you think that your safe from terrorists. No one will ever be safe from them. What you fail to understand, is that when the war on terrorism stops and it will. They will just start back up again. You have to address what you are doing that is making the rest of the world hate you. And i am sure that some of you sitting in front of your PC's drinking you Mountain Dew, thinking that this person from South Africa knows fuck all. Think about this we have had terrorism in this country for years. With violence we only got violence in return, when we said enough is enough its stopped. When we stopped forcing our way of life on people, the terrorism stopped.

America has a lot to learn about how to live in the world, they are not the world, and if we the rest of the world wished it, we would wipe you out in a matter of days.

So think about what you say, stop watching your TV, stop reading your newpapers, your letting someone else think for you, make your own opinion.

Read a book, something that is a classic. Maybe 1984, brave new world, something that can show you how to think.
