There are plenty of things that would be regarded as the domain of straight white males, they simply aren't labelled as such. eg. Since I doubt most parents would "Want " to have homosexual child and I am assuming even a Homosexual who adopted a child for legitimate purposes (Not as a sex Toy) would have a strong drive to further their blood line. IE. have natural grandchildren.

I have to admit I don't know many homosexuals, although I live near Cologne, the so-called "gay capital of europe".
I have nothing against them, but I also do not feel the wish to surround myself with gay people to prove I am a true liberal.
I am all for gay marriage ( or reckognized partnership, civil union, whatever they call it these days ), since gay couples also have responsibilities for each other. Some even raise children, which makes it even more important to give their relationship some legal basis.
You obviously won't find a catholic priest to perform a ceremony in a church, but I guess that would be asking too much of society. As long as the state reckognizes that partnership, it's alright. Personally, I am not very religious, and I couldn't care less what the church thinks about this, but historically, marriage is a religious ceremony only to be held between a man and a woman. It is one of the most important foundations of christianity and as such will not change in the next 1.000 years, I'd say.
I also partly agree that there is a tendency among gay people to express their sexuality more openly than heterosexuals. But I'd say that this is simply because they have been suppressed so long and a lot still feel they need to fight for reckognition in society. Hence the gay parades, christopher-street-day, etc...
btw, an interesting side note: when a young woman says she is careful around heterosexual men because she is afraid she might become a victim of sexual violence, everybody is really understanding and supportive.
But when a heterosexual man says the same thing about gay men, everybody screams "homophobic !!"...

I will say this as well, homosexuality will never be mainstream, or even accepted by society as a whole in America, simply because the thoughts of 1 man engaging in sexual intimacy with another is repulsive to most of us. There are very many sterotypes that I'm reading in this post, about gay people. Not all gay people are flamboyant, or all into the gay "culture". All I know is that human beings are animals like dogs, cats and the such and fall into the same catogoies.
As far as the Gay, black, and hispanic magizines and news papers, there are news papers out there that target everyone. You can pick up a mag based on naked pregnant women, so that makes it a mute point. I really have to say that there plenty of mags out there that target straight white people and I buy them, FHM, Maxim, and alot more, their just not targeted obviously. Now as far as BET and all other black targeted entertainment aspects, these companies are there to create money for companys.

Wannabe I'd have to say no. But in this day and age everything is getting put into a mental problem sort of thing for pharmicutacal companies to make money. The reason I'm saying that it's not passed down, is because they'd already have a drug out there that would make homosexuals straight. We all have free will and can make our own choices and if that's your choice it should have the same benefits as a straight couple.

Maxim actually doesn't really ahve that many black people in there mag. Also the black mags have white people, there are white entertainers that target the black culture. Now WET sounds like a porn station, and even without it majority of the channels out are targeted at white males age 18-45. There's a TV station that has Pat roberson(I think that's his name) on it, now you can't get whiter then that.
All I'm saying is that certain channels target minority markets and market to them as such. Let's take FOX, it generally targets a white market if you called it WET now you'd be taking away from a section market that might watch the simpsons.
