I actually meant greatest selling album of all time.
But you didn't say that.

Nice job comparing him against albums that have been out over 10 years longer than his music.. not too mention his generation isn't exactly running out to the store and "buying albums". He did have the top selling album of all time (thriller). Album sales all together have been down for the last decade. Face it, your parent's were held hostage.
Also, I sure do as fuck remember a shit storm of fans losing their mind everytime one of those queerbomb beatle fuckers died.
Rar rar rar, make more excuses. Ohh no... 10 years longer over the space of 50 really makes such a huge fucking difference. Beatles songs today still get used in movies, TV shows, advertising are still regularly played on the radio, where as Michael Jackson hardly gets a mention, an occasional song here and there and then hes forgotten like yesterdays trash. He had one successful album, an extremely successful album to be fair but his songs are now forgotten relics of the past.
Right so years the album has actually been available means nothing.. lol.. Michael Jackson the artist didn't release an album until 1972. that's a 12 year difference.. the Beatles also released more albums. Despite your clever rar rar rar comment, things like music sharing (copied tapes) does have an impact..
Nice logic. But then it's no surprise since you missed the entire fucking point. You think there isn't going to be a buzz around his death? Hundreds of millions of people liked his music enough to spend their hard earned money on it. I know it's a difficult number to comprehend, but imagine the entirety of the Australian population times about 30. It doesn't really matter that another band (OF A DIFFERENT GENERATION) sold more. There is another generation that grew up listening to MJ. It was the soundtrack of their childhood. There hasn't been anything
close to his popularity in my lifetime.
Forgotten thing of the past?.. if this were the case people wouldn't be whining about all the buzz around his death. No one would care. And it would not be covered. You're a victim of your own ill-fated logic.
