Consoles aren't worth it and you should be able to play games on that easily. What resolution do you run at?
lol.

Yeah, just turned down the res as far as I could, turned each setting as low as they go, loaded into a dusty server, went heavy. 40 FPS in spawn room, 20 FPS when watching combat, 10 FPS while in combat, 5ish FPS when there's a flame in my face or so
I'm more pumped for ODST, but I didn't include the full name as I originally sort-of combined it like "Halo ODST and Reach".Kptk92 wrote:
Halo: Reach I guess he means. Obviously isn't excited about it too much if he doesn't even say the full name

Any other thoughts on PS3 vs 360?
Any "must buys" for PS3, or PS2? Or games that match my preference?

metal gear solid, killzone, uncharted, god of war, resistance, gran turismo
go for ps3

I'm already leaning towards a PS3.SamBo:D wrote:

Thoughts on sports games, racing games?
I'd recommend a 360, but IMO it depends most on what your friends have. I know like 2 people with PS3s and at least 30 with 360s so playing online with friends on my 360 is far more appealing than the PS3. The 360 plays most Xbox games as well
I think most sports games are on both consoles, however PS3 has F1 games and GT
Yeah but that'll change next year SamBo:D - F1 2010 is out on all next gen consoles next year
Not between the two, I mean in general. Worth the cash, how's the playtime?SamBo:D wrote:

if u love sports games they are probably the best value for money out of any genre. I know my mates who still play pro eve 06 every day in their house
Get an XBOX

because he can't afford one
I actually can no longer see any reason I would personally want a 360 over a PS3. When they first came out i had a 360 but a year and a bit ago I sold it because they quite simply offer nothing more that I wanted, whereas the PS3 was releasing shit loads of exclusives that I did want. Ive bought 11 retail exclusives in the last year and 18 retail games in total.

PS3 - £290 (80gig, wireless built in, free charger, built in blu ray player, free internet)

Xbox360 - £150 (60gig)
Blu ray player £150
Wireless hub - £40
Charger/batteries etc - £15+
XBL - £40 (a year)

Now it makes sense to me.SamBo:D wrote:

My opinion on thread:
I don't have a PS3 but both consoles have their pros and cons. However, the PS3 would probably work out cheaper because of all of the problems and add-ons that the 360 has (Red Ring of Death, Battery charger, extra batteries etc etc..)
Most xbox games? I'm lucky to find an xbox game that will actually play on the 360. Also, bevo, what things do you like about gaming? What kind of gamer are you?Winston_Churchill wrote:

I think the marked difference between the two is the online interaction. XBox360 has really developed their online GUI and personally I think Xbox Live is waaay better than PS3's PSN. Yes, PSN is free but I really think you get what you pay for.
Sam, its rather illogical for you to say he (JS) can't afford a PS3 and then demonstrate that an XBox360 with all the fixings is more expensive. Then again, logic isn't your strong suit so I'll let it pass.
PS3 exclusive games (with the exception of the shitty Sony sports games) are the sole reason to pick up a PS3. Gran Turismo in particular is almost worth buying the whole system for.

Well I do have a PC, so I'll be playing FPSs on that.War Man wrote:

I do enjoy all sorts of games, from sports to platformers, whatever. I don't however like games where you play through the story once and you're finished. Exceptions being some of the classic nintendo titles (zelda... mario) because frankly, they're awesome.
