I conclusion, entrenchment definitely adds to the game. Especially mines and star bases. I'm currently beefing out my defenses then I'm gonna amass my huge army.
dont set mines on auto, they keep respawning and laying themselves, taking up all your gold. i had like 1000 mines on one planet lol
No you didnt you mug. You can deploy a max of 150 mines in one gravity well. I set one hangar to produce them until I cant lay any more. It then produces three more n stops.Vilham wrote:

LIAR!!!!!
I do believe I'm retarded. I've decided to play through an entire match of the 102 planets/ 5 galaxy map.
Five hours in, this is how it goes. Ten players started, 3 have been eliminated by moi I have maxed out my tech tree in all areas, and own 5 artifacts (1 repeat)
My empire
My fleet
Our ships will blot out the sun
And finally, just for sweet ass looks,
On a side note, the freaking shots save in BMP and are stored in ridiculously confusing folder paths

Man, those huge games are fun, but I hate the fact there is a unit cap. I want a fleet that eclipses planets, but we're not allowed
The game got too repetitive for me.
I wish the pirates at the centre of the galaxy were a thousand times more powerful.
Anyone who remembers Master of Orion, knows how rewarding it was capturing Orion and then moving on to take on the Antarans.

Oh and the Antarans were the only hard thing in that game if you picked that scientific perk or w/e it was that meant you gained all the technologies in a scientific field you were researching, not just one.
I used to fly a fleet of 4-15 of them death-globe thingies about and let the computer do the battles automatically. lel I won.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
I meant to also say, you need huge fleets to do those massive games, which is why I dont like stupid unit capsbennisboy wrote:

lol that would be the creative trait and the "death-globe thingies" were the dreadnought class ships and yes I sometimes still play it...Flecco wrote:

I'll get tf2 later. Been spending too much $$$ on alcohol.
I know what you mean I'm using the 2500 unit cap just to hold the one galaxy. Eventually I'll just load everything that's near a wormhole or star with Hangar Defenses, that way the fleets can move out.bennisboy wrote:

Do you have the entrenchment expansion? It definitely helps a lot with not having to leave ships behind to protect. BTW did you set fleet size to large in the game options? I think it allows a higher unit cap but I'm not too sureSplinterStrike wrote:

Aye, large fleets are selected. I dont have the expansion unfortunately. I did a test run of 8 Hangar Defenses+phase jump inhibitor and planetary shields on a recent conquest, raped the counter attack
I also have an asteroid at one of the star's exits, it's ringed with a phase jump inhibitor and 33 Gauss turrets. Poor lil pirate raids that have flown in never flew out I'll put some screenshots up later.

lol k, must have been 150 then, the entire gravity well was covered by them. still costs fuck loads of gold though.bennisboy wrote:
