well hope they lose 2, Denver if they do beat Rockets which is likely. Also they ought to trade McGrady they were better off without him and get someone better who will care and support the team and not go out and state that Lakers will beat their team. fucking dumbass... Yeah so if they do beat the Rockets, they have Nuggets who are playing extremely good, then if they beat them they might play Cavs who havent lost a game yet in the playoffs and KING James seems unstoppable... praise the King!KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Houston has no chance buddy. The only reason they are even still in it it because the Lakers seem to have a knack for taking games off.
@Aussie: I didn't even know you guys had a bball league...the only thing I can recall about Aussies and basketball is Vince Carter dunking over a 7 foot center French center in the 2000 Olympics (in Sydney).

Yeah the Nuggets will provide some tough competition for the Lakers. Cavs have no chance. They haven't lost a game in the playoffs because they are playing downright shitty teams. I don't want to take anything away from Detroit and Atlanta for having a decent and good season respectively, but they are simply not elite teams in their conference. I'd love to see the Cavs sweep the Jazz or the Rockets - both are teams that are far superior to the run-of-the-mill teams the Cavs have dominated. It amazes me how many people are sackriding the Cavs when they haven't even really been tested in the playoffs. That will change of course when they face Orlando/Boston (which, if you look at my previous posts in this thread, is playing out exactly as I called it - Orlando spreading the floor with Hedo and Rashard Lewis).blademaster wrote:

nah Cavs are on the mission to destroy the Eastern Conference and kill Kobey! but Nuggets will stomp the Lakers or at least Im hoping the way they've been playing... Billups will help them defeat the Lakers...KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Keep dreamin' man. It is fitting that they meet in the Finals so Kobe can remind the retards who the best player in the game is.
Not very impressed with the win. Glad they won but it wasn't pretty. Orlando gave it to us.Narupug wrote:

Lebron is a one dimensional powerhouse. Kobe is the most complete player in the game. Lebron is more powerful. Kobe is more athletic. I really don't see how people can say Lebron is a better player.Locoloki wrote:

yea Lebron is a beast! but yeah Kobey's downfall is that he couldnt win without Shaq even Shaq made a rap about it. If he doesn't win this season couple of guys on the team are going to be moved since their contracts are up and Phil Jackson might retire from wut I hear.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

And Shaq couldn't win without a small guard...and Phil can only win if he has a superstar...blah blah blah. Those aren't arguments, those are excuses. Kobe has taken his team to the Finals twice without Shaq. Shaq can sit his fat ass in Pheonix, eat hamburgers and twitter about it - he is worthless now. When Lebron scores 81 points in a game I'll give him some credit. Until then, he is a powerful one-dimensional player, not much else.
Lamar has said publicly he's willing to take less money to stay a Laker. It might be a little harder for Ariza because it is his first real contract year. However, he's from L.A. and seems to like it here so we'll see.

I think they both play differently and neither of them is a better player. They both take on different roles and are equally as good in both.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Right now, you can say that LeBron is playing better, but only points-wise.
The fact is, the Cavs are sitting with two 4-0s in their pocket for the playoffs, and the Lakers aren't. Disregarding the opponents, you have to say, that is really something from the Cavs. The only team who can truly stop them are the Lakers, and even then, I am doubtful if they could pull it off unless Kobe plays his best, and right now, he isn't doing that. Sure, he's getting in the 20s, but certainly not playing his best, and certainly not being consistent throughout the quarters.
How can you say hes one-dimensionalKEN-JENNINGS wrote:

He topped Kobe in every statistical category except freethrow% and turnovers (Steals, Blocks, Rebounds, Assists, FG%, Three Pointers, Points) and played in one less game!

Stats aren't the full gauge of a good player. Kobe can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court consistently - Lebron can't. He is one-dimensional because he is a drive/post up player first, defender second, and outside scorer third. Kobe can score from anywhere on the floor, is consistently named to all NBA defense teams, a 7 time all-NBA first team pick, the best closer in the game (as voted by roughly 3/4 of the players), I could go on and on. And like I said, he scored 81 points in a game. That is utterly unheard of in today's game. He didn't offensive goaltend and sit under the basket waiting for the rock like Wilt did - he took jumpshots and drove to the hoop to score his 81. Not to mention Lebron has shit the bed when the Cavs have played the Lakers.Locoloki wrote:

Lebron may one day be a better basketball player than Kobe, but at this point in his career he isn't close.
what a terrible game
Bruins are losing too

lol i hope this is a joke. Kobe has so much more talent around him it isn't even funny. Lebron was able to lead a pathetic Cavs team to the finals in '07, Kobe couldn't do shit until he got his allstar team through that bs Memphis trade.plus 81 points, while impressive, isn't all it's cracked up to be when you're the only scoring option on your team and you're playing the pisspoor Toronto Raptors.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

also yeah hope the Lakers lose! but I think they might beat the Rockets but u never know good game last nite
Ok, so a full strength LA Lakers team cannot beat the Houston Rockets who are minus T-Mac AND Yao. The Rockets are minus three starters (having traded Rafer Alston to the Orlando Magic). On the other hand Boston is putting up a hell of a fight against an almost full strength Magic team. Without arguably one of the greatest PF's (He hasnt been as dominate with Boston but he also hasnt needed to be) The Celtics also lost Leon Powe who is actually an upgrade over Glen Davis (who is third on the depthchart) believe it or not. Yes the Magic are playing without allstar Jameer Nelson, but Rafer Alston isnt exactly chopped liver and he can run a team with talented small forwards and a dominant big man. Denver is a legit title contender, they will be able to keep up with the Cav's with their inside presence and outside presence, JR Smith is going to break out next year, Nene, Kmart and Melo are quality starters and they are led by Chauncy Billups who has won it all in Detroit
Anthony Carter is a high assist low turnover back-up true pointgaurd and dont forget Chris (Birdman)Anderson who is a block machine. By far the Denver Nuggets are playing with 7 starters. Whoever wins, Magic or Celtics they will lose to the Cavs. Mo Williams, Delonte West (who i love his intensity) Varajou (another High energy guy), Ben Wallace, Ilgauskas, former first round pick and another Detroit guy Joe Smith, who only takes high accuracy shots with low turnovers, and league MVP LBJ. Sorry Wally world, your only good for shooting. This team is too tall, too fast, too healthy and too deep to lose
but Denver vs. Cleveland is a legit title contending matchup

It was a disgusting game. I can't believe the Lakers are struggling this much.
