Why do devs use the USMC nowadays? Wtf is wrong with the US Army?
Marines might walk on water.
Army elite can swim through land!
And, really, the USMC does a little bit of everything. They fight, they fly, they swim, they sail.. and they get some of the new & different cool toys to do so with. Hovercraft, Osprey transport, etc. If you're making a video game, the public image of the USMC helps sell that.
USMC: dress uniforms, buzz cuts, and swords! F'ing SWORDS, man!
Army: polyester puke green dress uniform, looks like it was designed by the same people that did the McDonalds uniform.
The Army is the "average" military. Nobody wants to market their game based on the average, normal military.
Nope.
Their game's gotta be based on the hardest of the hard, baddest of the bad.
SF isn't good enough. Delta isn't good enough. gotta make up a new bunch 'o badasses and call 'em Rainbow Six or some such noise.
(Nevermind that Rainbow Six sounds like an elite over-the-top gay-pride strike force. You've got a fashion emergency that noone else can solve.. You have the money.. You have the accessories.. and you can find them amongst the San Francisco underground.. you might get help from... Rainbow Six!
