It's not that bad actually. I draw about 3kW on average including fridges, oven, washing machine, ...
No need for heating. I have my huge balcony door open all the time and my "loft" stays at a nice comfortable 23°C. Once summer hits I'll have to think of something though or I'll melt in the heat. I guess I'll outsource all the headless PCs to my parents' place. They have a nice cool cellar with internet. With just a Desktop, a low power HTPC and a laptop my place shouldn't get too hot. Or maybe I need to get an air conditioner ... or move in with Freezer.

Thanks to nuke plants and hydroelectricity power is so cheap that it's easier for the power company to charge a flat rate than to install a lot of power meters.

Also I'd like to announce a little side project. The noise level of my P4 has always pissed me off. When I find the time I'll buy a lot of oil and make a ghetto oil cooled PC. A Northwood & FX5200 shouldn't need active cooling on the oil. I only need to figure out how to get stop that wonderful french fries smell
