Free Weekend #3 starts Thursday, May 28. Pre-load begins now.

“Titan Pack” includes:
16 environments — four Warfare, three vCTF, six Deathmatch, and three CTF maps — that are new to the PC and PS3 versions
Three bonus pack maps, CTF-Face, CTF-Searchlight and DM-Morbias
The namesake Titan mutator, which lets players overwhelm opponents as a 15 foot tall titan, or crush them as a 30 foot tall Behemoth
Greed and Betrayal, two gametypes that breed new-found fervor throughout the competitive UT3 arena
Two powerful weapons, the Stinger Turret and Eradicator Cannon artillery
Two valuable deployables, the X-Ray Field and Link Station
The Slow Field power-up, a portable version of the Slow Field deployable
Stealthbender, a new vehicle that carries two spidermine trap deployables, one EMP mine, and one each of the new Link Station and X-Ray Field deployables
Two new characters, Nova and Kana
57 awards attainable as Steam Achievements
Significant AI enhancements, especially in vehicle gametypes; networking performance upgrades; greatly improved menu flow and UI usability; better mod support
Client-side demo recording, highly improved Server Browser, a new maplist system, plus mid-game mutator and gametype voting functionality for PC

I've heard other people have that problem. I'm sure Valve will fix it soon enough. Finally got my download started, and its speeding along at 88kb/s. The 8Gb will just fly by!

Methinks Valve underestimated its popularity.

You can use your CD-key on steam to get UT3 on there if you have a retail copy.

I think they'll definitely have to extend this. Loads of people are trying Steam for the first time and seeing this absolute mess and thinking its standard. Most people will not bother if its not sorted very soon. I think a week at least would make people forget about the downloading issues.

This was supposed to be Epic + Valve's "an old unpopular game can be brought back to life with Steam integration and a meaningful update" experiment that was going to prove to other developers that dropping support in favour of a new game isn't as good as supporting a current one to the fullest. Hopefully inspiring other developers to do the same. Not only giving current owners a boost of life to their game, but massively increasing Steam user numbers.

Well thats what I think anyway. Instead this happens. I'm sure Valve are far less happy about the situation than us. They'll want to redeem it.

I think the problem is as much Creative Assembly/SEGA's fault as it is Valve and Epic's.

CA didn't release a tactile version of Empire, and people are DLing that, in addition to all the people DLing UT3.
