first one looks cool... i would lose the greyish text behind the main text... maybe add a drop shadow?
and change the color of the beveled text... darker? the second pic is really cool... nice

First one is a classic grunge picture, so I don't really like it.

The background of the second one is very good. The text font, however, doesn't match - probably need something more rounded and sans serif.

My thoughts except that I think the font in the second one is worth a 2 as well. Use more simple and rounded fonts. But the backgrounds atre awesome!
