Hey there,

Now I know this will have been a much asked question, but im asking it anyway due to I am curious about something else to do with it.

The generic question is does BF2142 contain DRM and what exactly does it do? (and does it uninstall/or is removable). Ah but wait! For I have a question kinda relating to it. Does the EA Downloader contain DRM as well and is that also able to be removed?

I purchased BF2142 ages ago you see, and stupidly did it online via EA downloader on my old pc due to laziness. So now im wondering if playing again really is worh it.

What I know it doesn't have any DRM, and it hasn't been asked before. EA downloader doesn't need DRM because its free to use.

But what it did have was a file that logged some info about how long you watched a sign to put ads on them. Have rarely seen those. It might not be so many people playing it now than it was from the start but there are still plenty of servers to play on.

Give it a try, but expect those people to be good with the weapons or probably cheat. well not everyone but if you played BF2 you can get pretty much same feelings on it.

The game itself is not worth it if you ask me, it was very fun in the early days, but now it's just 99% Voss, no diversity, same shit every single round

Has it really degenerated that badly?
I was gonna re-install (I love NS)

anyway the Voss isn't that good, I'm still shocked that people use that over the awesomeness of the stocks, sometimes I think people just use it because they think "unlocks must be better"

Define your limit of DRM.

The copy protection on the DVD is DRM, as is Spore's crappy lockout-if-you-don't-report-back-in-7-days.

I think thats a common affliction thats shared with BF2, i loved the stock weapons on 2142, shame i didn't like the actual gameplay one bit. As Sydney said, same shit, different map is all.

And yeh i'd say don't plough your time into 2142, go back to BF2 and try some mods if you haven't already. Failing that, look at some other shooters, 2142 just doesn't deliver.

I play PR very regulary, it's just I'm now going back to work and will have very little time to be able to play, so a 3 to 4 hour round of PR will be hard, I've really gone off vBF2 as I can't find a good server that isn't Karkand IO
