tbh it should read, how many developers Activision and EA own. Which from the looks of it, is a lot.

I'm not sure if the chart is supposed to be read as chronological from top to bottom It doesn't follow enough conventions to be a family tree.

Also it clearly shows the cancer that is killing the gaming industry; bigger companies coming and swallowing up smaller talent, effectively meaning that games nowadays are ALL THE SAME SHIT

Edit: the chart also sucks because it needs more arrows, who is acquiring who??

Shits confusing me. It somehow is chronological, but the pic could have been bigger to make things clearer.

Wish I could sleep right now but I'll try to give it a explanation.

Seirra bought a bunch of other companies. One of them was Vivendi. Vivendi then bought more like Blizzard and Ubisoft.

At first there was Atari. Then some people left and made Activision. Activsion went their own way eating up other groups. Atari kept on bought some people, changed their name, bought some more people, and changed their name again.

THQ bought someone and had a few people leave. They were their own thing.

Activsion merged at some point with Viviendi.

Then there were Westwood who merged with EA. From there they started buying up everyone they could.

Guess that sums it up.
