God damn. Started herbalism today. After about two hours, I'm level 50. Also, while searching for herbs, I was able to level my skinning skill from 20 to about 140.
And then because of that, I was able to create a bunch of auctions and make a ton of gold. Looks like I WILL be able to afford that mount after all.
Herbalism is definately a profitable gathering profession, the mats always sell due to flasks and pots so you are in to make a very nice amount of gold from that. Skinning on the other hand, imo, hasn't turned out to be such a great gathering profession to have. Yes it gives you 'Master of Anatomy' (improves critical strike rating and is soon recieve a buff) but the only real profitable skin is 'Arctic Fur' and that doesnt have a said drop raid. Unlike 'Cobra Scales' in TBC.
I'd seriousley recommend you to take Alchemy to go with that Herbalism, also go elixir master, flasks are always needed and its nice when you can proc extra flasks. For example, i took mats for 10 spell dmg flasks to a friend and i ended up with 23 flasks from the mats i had. And these flasks sell for around 80g, tho i don't sell them, i use them and give them to raid members, it's stll easy enough to see the profit involved in the profession.
I also have tailoring, which as yet, is worthless except for 2/3 items at best. And even the value of those items is far outweighed by the amount of gold i've invested into the prof. And it's very annoying considering tailoring was pretty much
a must for TBC warlocks.
