K, so I've had my xbox for like 6 months now. Never used live. Use it a bit and like the games. It's done a lot of travelling though as I've moved house 4 times this year.

K, so this time I decided to leave it with my little brother aaaaaaaand.... After a week he called me up.

It broke. No red rings. It just wont start. It's covered by warrenty but I'm a bit pissed.

1) Because I was told by everybody that it would happen.

2) When you are paying hundreds of dollars you don't expect the piece of shit to break.

Fucking micro$oft.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

<--- 2 year old 360 with no problems.

From what I hear, MS's policy for fixing broken 360's is very efficient...shouldn't be much of a problem.

That's what happens when you trust your valuables with others; no offense to your brother. Get the replacement as per your warranty then sell it if you are dissatisfied with the product. Then send hate mail to Microsoft for an added touch.

And don't forget, if you have Halo drawings and autographs on it, they'll clean it right off for you, free of charge! Pretty sweet if you ask me.

the first 360 I bought had a dead HD right out of the box.  The next one hasn't had a single problem in 2 years.  I forgive.

If you have Xbox 360, it is better to lay it horizontally. I have had RROD and had to do some surgery to this thing to fix it.

Microsoft has made a fundamental flaw in the system by placing air intake on the right hand side of the Xbox 360. This means that when it is placed vertically, air intake faces the floor, which restricts air flow drastically. Not to mention the horribly designed 'X' clamp which causes more trouble rather than to cool down the processors and clamp them down at the same time.

I've had mine vertically the entire time I've had it and again, no problems...

just because you've been so lucky doesn't mean most people are. It's pretty well understood that the 360 has a lot of problems, and is often unreliable.

I wouldn't be surprised if yours dies within a year.

You act like every 360 on Earth RRoD's.

And that won't matter anyways as I'm upgrading to an Elite with the RRoD-proof (if not almost 100%) jasper chipset for the holidays.
