I managed to play the game for about 10 minutes before quitting it in frustration.
There are so many invisible walls in this game that it makes it almost unplayable. Every single doorway I encountered was blocked, the tinyest rocks and bushes were impossible to jump over and I never had more than 5 meters of space to my sides.

Was expecting an excellent game after playing all the other games in the series...

You guys bought Call of Duty 5 for the single-player Campaign?

/lol.

The trigger-point NPC spawning is enough to permanently put me off the CoD-SP series. Kinda kills the immersion when you have to run over an invisible line before the enemy stop respawning...

Unlimited enemy respawns bothers me more than linear gameplay. If I had a say in production, I'd institute contact instances, and the readiness and composition of the following instances would be determined by whether or not you wait until you kill each instance or push ahead. Hold back too much, and you start getting bombarded. Push forward too fast and you're surrounded. That would've been a cooler CoD5, and would've done some of the immersive in-game plot events more justice.

But honestly, who expected anything more? I would've just been happy if they would've applied some of the bugfixes of CoD4 and had playable dogs rather than wall-hack automatons who don't even have to sniff your ass out.

I'm still trying to get my head around the scenario of surviving a rifle-shot to the chest, only to 5 minutes later be mauled to death by the paw of a docile labrador.

"The other bond games were good!"

"You mean golden eye, for N64?"

How the fuck did he think that would have any effect on the new game. Video games after movies are just more cash now, they aren't made to actually be good... If they are its a fluke.

Golden eye was the exception. But ever since ET was released, movie based games have been terrible.

Everyone says the Call of Duty games have unending spawning enemies.

But I distinctly remember playing COD2 when you land in a boat in front of some buildings and are left to approach two machine guns and a cannon, one of the supposedly unlimited spawn areas, and hiding behind a rock.  I spent around 4 minutes repeatedly shooting the enemies that came to man the machine guns.  Then they stopped.  I just got up and walked up to the wall, and no one came out.

I don't think the enemies have unlimited respawns.  Just something like 5 minutes' worth.

Also, think of COD4's "charlie don't surf" - there's tons of instances in that mission that the enemies don't spawn continuously, even on veteran (unless you prefer to rush and don't hang around in areas for long enough to see this).

The Azerbaijan missions in CoD4 have unlimited enemies. Otherwise, its all limited (as far as I can tell).

Many areas in Cod2 and 4 have limitless spawning enemies. It´s supposed to force you into pushing forward instead of tricking the ai by couter-strike-like camping and peeking aroung corners, picking off all hostiles with a deagle from the distance. Increasing the action and that intense feeling. Or something like that.
Works for me most of the time.
